No match day revenue would be my guess. The fact that ACL were willing to reduce rent 90% shows what a bad deal it was for the club and why something had to be done about it. However SISU's bully tactics clearly were not the right choice.
I understand that 99% of you will not be attending and I respect your view. SISU want us to be playing in Coventry, why wouldn't they? A move outside the city lowers revenue and ruins the relationship with the fans, if there was a suitable ground within the city we would be playing there. This isn't an issue of SISU wanting to leave the city, it's an issue of city wanting to leave the Ricoh.
The club was suffering a slow death under the Ricoh deal, that is undeniable. The action taken by SISU was horrendously executed but it was necessary for the survival of the club. The way our fans blame SISU 100% is puzzling, the council have been complicit with the mismanagement of the club for decades, ACL have been overcharging and making money out of the club (800k p/a).
SISU have been terrible owners that is a fact. But when have we ever been a well-run club? SISU clearly want success for the club, why else have they not sold us? They want to unite the club with the stadium and sell us, if they achieve that club will be in its best financial position for decades, perhaps ever. So what the NOPM strategy achieve?
SISU are no mugs, Tim Fisher will know attendance will be very low and will be making plans based on this. NOPM will not "starve out" SISU, it might kill the club. The fact that some fans have been talking about creating a phoenix club while the club is still alive is not right.
Who do you want to replace SISU? The bidders clearly didn't have the money they claimed to. Hoffman and Elliott have been involved in the mismanagement of the club for years.
ACL forced the club into administration last season to prevent liquidation. This season they forced us into liquidation. Why?
This has turned into a bit of a ramble but I'll end it with this.
I have no allegiance to CCC/ACL/SISU, only to CCFC. I'll be at Sixfields because I support CCFC, I won't be at the Ricoh supporting a landlord who gained control over my club due to mistakes of the previous regimes.
A simple question who would you rather come out of this mess better, SISU or ACL? If SISU succeed the club will be back in Coventry paying less rent and receiving match day revenue if ACL succeed the club might well die.
<<It makes a difference when average gates are low 20,000s and ticket prices are scandalous but it is possible to be competetive while being screwed on the rent. If SISU can't make a competetive financial model out of a club as well supported as yours, even with £1.3m/year in rent they only have themselves to blame. If they can't do it with a rent of £150K then they're idiots and Coventry would be better off in the hands of whoever from the city did best at Football Manager this year.>>
Great post 'justvisiting' however the key, key thing to realise here is that in rejecting the perfectly reasonable £150k offer, SISU clearly demonstrated that they don't WANT to make a competitive model out of the club.
Why? because from day one all the wanted was the Ricoh Arena.
Its that EFFING SIMPLE.
ACL WILL BE MAKING MONEY FROM SUNDAY's Charity Game!
I honestly don't mind him going stu, it's the fact he felt he had to join a forum and tell everybody he was going. Like i said attention seeking.each to their own, I wont hammer the guy for making that choice. We all want one thing and that is 3 points.

The former players association arranged this game not ACL I think the only reason its short notice is because there was still a chance CCFC would be playing at the Ricoh.
I was going to go northampton but am not now but will be travelling down to listen to the game and see family, already been to crawley and orient but thought bout it long and hard will not go northampton however also i will NOT set foot in ricoh for a meaningless charity game while we play infact if we dont return to ricoh id quite happily watch it burn down i hold ACL/CCC just as guilty as SISU in this whole mess COME ON YOU SKY BLUES FOR SUNDAY!!!!!
The difference, there not going, he is.tbf, loads of people are coming on a forum to say they're not going, so what's the difference?
The difference, there not going, he is.
Who cares if people want to go?
The reason sisu never entered into the offered rent of £150k is simple the damage to the relationship between them and ACL is irreconcilable its like asking a bitterly divorced couple to sleep together for the sake of the kids, it just aint going to happen anytime soon.
Surely the judge in this case would have awarded custody after taking into account the awfull abuse of the child by the parent who was looking after it?The reason sisu never entered into the offered rent of £150k is simple the damage to the relationship between them and ACL is irreconcilable its like asking a bitterly divorced couple to sleep together for the sake of the kids, it just aint going to happen anytime soon.
You are right ACL make more money by reducing the rent from 1.2 million to 150000 and Sisu make more money by playing in front of 1000 in Northampton:thinking about::facepalm:The reason ACL/CCC are just as guilty is also very simple they are duty bound to get as much money as possible for the Ratepayers of coventry that is their REMIT they have no choice but to screw as much money out of CCFC as they possibly can or they fail in there duty to the ratepayer, they like sisu have no interest in CCFC or even in football their only interest is in getting money . likewise Sisu is the same but in order for them to make any money they have to make some sort of success of the club, success of the club means money in their pockets and thats all they are interested, it all boils down to money !!!
if the judge was a football fan he would award custody to sisu, if he was a ratepayer with no interest in football he would award custody to ACL/CCC
Thanks Deano...fair enough....Tesco it is then ;-) Should be a great day.
if the judge was a football fan he would award custody to sisu, if he was a ratepayer with no interest in football he would award custody to ACL/CCC
Same could be said of the trust! None of the money from those bands is going to the charity!
