Depends on the surgeon and their post-op instructions more than anything else, and these are based on the best evidence available for how long it takes for the graft to adequately bed in. You won't get many actual clinical stumbling blocks in the recovery of an elite athlete if it's a good surgery and good rehab (see Neymar's physios for an example of how not to treat a post-op ACLR).don't sworry about estimates, no one knows
Alex Morgan took 5 months to recover and start playing again but some people can take over a year
Cooper sheffield united keeper recently did ACLAny examples of top flight keepers who did an acl and came back?
On the face of it you probably don’t mind it as much as you do for a CM, but more I think about the need to jump, push off the knee as a keeper the less convinced i am. Certainly lost some of that when I did an acl.

Agree. Collins to go.Keep one of the two we have beyond the summer, look at a loan initially for the first half of the season but with the option to extend. Best we can hope for, really.
Not sure what's involved in rehab but there must be some weeks / months where they can let him go home and just follow instuctions you would have thought.Need to give him lots of love, young lad in a new country and this happens in your first year. Going to be destabilising.
Out here in Aus with Nrl rugby league, ACL injuries are 12 months
Awful news and so unlucky. Keeper incoming then for certain in the summerScan has confirmed ACL for Dovin
Won't be back until December
Trouble is, a bite on the arse won't stop him playing.I'm still angry at Sheffield prick, he didn't need to go in it looked spiteful and malicious and should have been looked at...hope karma bites the c**t on the arse
Depends on the size of karma biting himTrouble is, a bite on the arse won't stop him playing.
mate this season Collins has been diabolicalA season-ending injury to MVE, Wright, Thomas, Grimes, Rudoni, EMC or Sakamoto would be more damaging. There are obvious worries about Collins but at least hypothetically we don’t have to change anything about the way Lampard wants us to play.

MVE you could maybe argue, but the rest of those all have decent replacements at least

You&re obviously a glass half-full sort of person.it will also be tough coming into a struggling premier league team half way through the season on the back of that - we need an experienced keeper for next season, who Dovin can pick back up from towards the end

Like you say it's more the twisting and turning at pace or under pressure that's tough to return to. The power and plyometric ability of the leg will suffer but with good rehab he can get that back and more by the time he returns at 9-12 months!Any examples of top flight keepers who did an acl and came back?

Now official

It's one of them
Cracks me up when it happens against us, we are all outraged.Yeah he did, however he got turned and took him out. Should have had a yellow.
Should have had a red when he stuck an elbow into MVE's head though.
