I dunno, I just don't buy this anymore. In terms of first teamers, still here are murphy, Clarke, wood, hussey, baker, McDonald and Thomas. Oh and shef. The rest are new players on league 1 contracts.

I know for a fact that 1 player wouldn't take a cut, but the rest agreed. Dunno if the 'rebel' then conceded or not. But all contracts were sorted after that.

Fantastic.
If rumours like this are true then the players deserve all the boos they receive. Of course their bonuses are going to get cut after they got the club RELEGATED.

In how many other professions do you get a bonus for turning up to work? Anyone who isn't putting in 100% effort at the moment because of this should be got rid of asap!

HAS anyone on these boards ever considered the reverse position ,before getting all ammoral about this ,Yes every Footy players wages are too high ,But its just as concievable that when these type of contracts first appeared in the game ,it was as much about reducing the basic Down if a player was injured or out of form ,Now they get another reduction :thinking about:

Basically a player on a 2 year contract stated that he wanted to be out of City by Christmas and intimated that the players would be using the Arsenal game as a shop window and will be playing their arses off, just a pity they can't put themselves in the shop window week in and week out

a shop window ?

Even if they are MOTM in a 5-0 win to cov, its hardly the World Cup is it ?

Somee early round matchin a tin pot trophy against arsenal reserves in a half full stadium and its not on tele.

Its not really interesting is it, and its just a rumour that any one of us could and has probably thought about since the bonus story broke.

Plus we all know damn well they will put in a decent performance against Arsenal.....

I don't think it is the reason

In the Stevange game 6 summer signings played for the club, all summer signings had agreed to the new bonus structure before signing for the club it said when it was reported. So it doesn't make sense that the players are playing badly because of it.

We need to stop using this as a shield for the players, if they are under performing because of it we need to ship them out

Sounds like it isn't true to me and is probably made up. As said a lot of the new players will be on the new bonus scheme so why would they be bothered?

Would ANYBODY be able to have a game of football and not give 100%?

Agree, it doesn't make sense and is actually a very poorly written "article"

it is a shocking 'article' throwing suppositions and wild fantasies around with absolutely no back up.

to suggest the players are all trying to underperform also suggests there is some sort of organisation within the squad. something that is patent rubbsh. they perform like strangers.

I like this line

Most of the current squad are better than this division

Because they certainly proved it last season while getting the bonuses that apparently make the difference between a good and bad team.

How are these players that are too good for league one?

So they want to put themselves in the shop window just for 1 game

If i were a scout and they caught my eye I would be watching a few more games after and probably end up thinking, no the Arsenal game was a 1 off this guy ain't got it

Its a crappy made up story

Surely they would also want to stand out in the shop window against league one players constantly rather than a hard game against Arsenal?

Exactly. Plus any scout worth a damn would look at a potential new signing for a few weeks, which would mean they wouldn't stand a chance.

It's such a terrible article in nearly every regard.
