But how do you achieve this? The biggest complaint about opening up the extra blocks to home fans is that its 'day trippers' and those currently in singers corner want to be closest to away fans to generate atmosphere. It then follows that if those blocks are being opened up regularly for home fans season tickets are offered there.Ultimately, I just think we need flexibility next season.
Robins certainly didn’t seem to see this game as a friendly or a match that didn’t matter. He specifically said yesterday that there is no way he wanted to see another team celebrating promotion in our back yard. I think he has the right attitude. I want us to go out on a high by winning our last two games.
No shit Sherlock.is that because you think they will be below you at the end of the 24/25 season - so you only need one more to stay up ?
Not in our interest you go up as you’ll likely come straight back down and that’ll be another club with parachute payments.No. But think Ipswich should be allowed more tickets. Surely everybody wants to see them promoted
This is just full of contradictions.Everything we do needs to be about the long term good of our club.
That doesn’t mean cashing in on a well supported away team.
Football is a zero sum game. The better other clubs are doing, the worse it is for us.
Every time we make our opponents stronger, we’re making things more difficult for ourselves.
The long term approach that Doug has taken since becoming owner is one of the things I’m most impressed by.
To think, some thought my post about Chaplin was bad! hahahahahahahahaFuck away fans end of, give the max to anyone 2.5k so we can configure our stadium set in stone. I hope Ipswich don’t go up and I’d like to spoil their party the straw eating weasels.
This is just full of contradictions.
First you say everything we do has to be for the long term good of the club. Surely gaining more money from Ipswich supporters has to do that but no you don't want that money.
Then there's this idea that depriving Ipswich supporters a seat at the match will impair them getting so it means one less club succeeding. It's already been established three clubs will go up. So if it isn't Ipswich another will go up anyway.
If Ipswich go up they won't be our opponents next year so how is that making it more difficult for ourselves?
We're just talking about enabling some people to go and watch a football match and making some money from it.
I see quite a few City games in the home end, because I can’t get away tickets. Last two were Sheff Wed and Watford. We won both games, and I thoroughly enjoyed the games, even though I had to sit on my hands when we scored. Nothing wrong with it.Seems excessive to travel all this way and have to sit on your hands and not express joy if you win or score. And it's not like they're achieving anything with any result on Tuesday. The season will go down to the last day.
The logical conclusion of your argument is that away fans should just get the balance of any unsold ticketsDoes any other business seek to minimise paying customers?
Was our promotion on the line ?I see quite a few City games in the home end, because I can’t get away tickets. Last two were Sheff Wed and Watford. We won both games, and I thoroughly enjoyed the games, even though I had to sit on my hands when we scored. Nothing wrong with it.
Did Ipswich ever have any top boys ?11 coaches stopping in Nuneaton, all their top boys coming. Anniversary of something when someone died. All gonna kick off and get messy as heard 4k+ in our end.
Leeds will have to sell Somerville if they don't go up, they won't be as strong next year. Ipswich under their current manager will be there again I think. While I'd quite like Ipswich to go up, from our point of view I think it might be better if Leeds did instead as I think Leeds are likely to be strong again next year whereas Ipswich might just fall away.
We're just talking about allowing some people to watch a football match and paying us for the privilege!I don't see any contradictions there. For a start its not just about Ipswich, its any opponent.
Secondly taking money to allow Ipswich fans to have an amazing night at our ground is just going to improve their fanbase.
To think, some thought my post about Chaplin was bad! hahahahahahahaha
Yeah Steve Wright & the rippersDid Ipswich ever have any top boys ?
I'm sure Mark is taking that into considerationWe better be making maximum effort I’ve shelled out £90 for our 3 tickets and my daughter has been in Canada for 19 months so would like her to see how well we can play.
Topsoil boys, yeah.Did Ipswich ever have any top boys ?
You won't be laughing when they bring their combine harvestersOoooh, really scary - Ipswich fans in the South stand
Are you saying they're gonna thresh us?You won't be laughing when they bring their combine harvesters
Worzel gummidgeDid Ipswich ever have any top boys ?
If games not being on at 3pm Saturday will diminish home fans, isn’t it likely that it would have the same effect on away fans?We should be aiming for that but when half the games are not at 3pm on a Saturday, there's no guarantee we'll have the demand for over 25,000 home fans every game.
Stop Trying make friends with anyone who will interact with you it’s really cringey.Robbie, you tend to talk evenly and fairly. That's why I challenged you on Chaplin.
Hamertime talks nonsense 90% and utter crap the other 10%. Does anyone read his posts ?
if Leeds dont go up they is in the Poo! and will have to sell 2/3 top players to avoid a points deduction. They have to pay £79 million in transfer fees before the start of the new season. While I'd quite like Ipswich to go up, from our point of view I think it might be better if Leeds did instead as I think Leeds are likely to be strong again next year whereas Ipswich might just fall away.
Sitting in the South Stand's quite scaryOoooh, really scary - Ipswich fans in the South stand
Yes. Fans were turfed out when we had season tickets in block 10. Why not?But how do you achieve this? The biggest complaint about opening up the extra blocks to home fans is that its 'day trippers' and those currently in singers corner want to be closest to away fans to generate atmosphere. It then follows that if those blocks are being opened up regularly for home fans season tickets are offered there.
So next season when its decided there's a nothing game where there's more demand from away fans are you turfing home fans out of their season ticket seats?
If games not being on at 3pm Saturday will diminish home fans, isn’t it likely that it would have the same effect on away fans?
