An alarming run of results for Cov what's going on? #ccfc #pusb
Pressley has made a choice on plenty of these players... He has to turn it around. Blaming owners or Waggott is not accurate.
Moussa
Christie
Wilson
Baker
Clarke
All players left because we didn't offer better wages etc... That's why
All playing in the league above bar baker.Moussa

The players don't seem arsed, no confidence in the system, nobody breaking their back for a win.
I'm not saying we have the brazil national squad, but no matter how good or not the players are they should be giving 100% and going down fighting.
We're not talking about total mugs here. Jackson, Johnson, Tudgay and Hines would all be playing in league above if they had not had injuries in last 1/2 years.
And that sums it up.
We still sign flawed players and hope they revive. We did it with the likes of Barton and co. too.
That's sometimes the gamble you take at this level - even in Championship.
It has worked for plenty of teams... Not us so far though.
We don't seem to do our research well though. It seems to be scattergun on past reputation or potential and hope.
Given this happened with Thorn too, it does suggest Waggott's transfer policy rather than the manager's mind you.
We did this years ago with Stuart Robson, and although he was actually brilliant for a season and a half, ultimately he succumbed to the underlying injuries West Ham knew he had.And that sums it up.

His senior players are on the whole a load of shirkers. Not one leader. Not one player who coaches the young players through. No talking, nothing.

Rubbish..
Clarke left because he didn't want to be here, Moussa saw us a stepping stone as did the Manager who signed him, Christie's head was turned and it wouldn't of mattered what deal you'd of offered him and Wilson was a good deal for the Club. The only player I don't understand being let go was Carl Baker, but I assume that was because Carl didn't fit into the 3-5-2 system.
None of the above are names left due to contract or terms offered in my eyes

Nor did the two wingers he signed.... :thinking about:
It's almost like he bought/signed a squad, then changed tactics last minute, and hasn't changed since
Someone pointed out in another thread (CCFC IIRC), last season he said 1 striker only, played with LC and CW, and struck gold. Maybe hoping the same with this 3-5-2/5-3-2?
Safe trip there n back though Robo?

Made me remember Ian Hartson.

Main quote which speaks volume "It’s fair to say Franck will be a target for Championship clubs and we just can’t match Championship club wages and that’s the fact of the matter just now,” said Pressley who was meeting with every player individually today to discuss their futures.
“Running this club properly when you consider Financial Fair Play and the fact we’re playing in front of 1,600 supporters, I think you can do your own maths. It’s not particularly easy for us to compete with any clubs from the higher divisions.

Some more quotes -
City’s on-going situation playing away from the Ricoh Arena in front of paltry crowds at Northampton, and the prospect of the playing budget being reduced again this summer, clearly have a bearing on his decision.
“I need to sit down and have a talk and clarify the future of the club because it’s not the most ideal situation at the minute,” said the defender, for whom City will get a compensation fee for because of his age.
“We’re here at Northampton, which is not the greatest, and it would have been even worse if we’d gone down.
Both highlight moving to sixfields and not offering great wages were part of the factor which in my eyes is sisu fault
Quite possibly... But you look at people like Clarke and McGoldrick that have been good acquisitions - both were at turning points until we 'gave' them the chance to reignite their careers.
Personally - I think the problem lies in defensive recruitment
