I think we can all agree after today there isnt a cat in hells chance we are making the playoffs this season and realistically there are three teams worst thn us to go down.
The january transfer window is notorius for either paying well over the odds for a decent signing as clubs dont want to sell or clubs offloading their players that arnt good enough.

From what we are hearing Doug isnt putting his hand to the bottom of his pocket but their are a few coppers left down the side of the sofa for fl to get a player or two in.
my question is given our lack of funds and that we have no chance of playoffs what is the point of signing someone in January and paying well over the odds which given some of our team now looks to have been the case previously.
Wouldnt Lampard be better waiting until the summer to use what money is left getting far better value and instead just get a couple of loans in January to see us through.
No point in getting excited about this season as its over

If we want to sell season tickets for next year in order to fund the summer transfer budget, then yes, it’s incredibly important to finish as high as possible

fuck me another thread

It's not pretty but fuck me we've been through more than any other club in the past 15 years!

Its going to take more than a signing to keep 20k season tickets next year.

Which reflects on our poor fanbase if that’s the case

I've just watched season 2 of SAS Rouge Heroes. What are your views on it?

I agree to a point. Just get loans in to see us over the line.

Our fanbase is identical to 90% of all clubs

It isn’t exceptional in good or bad terms.

It’s not the signing that will. What we need is a decent end to the season

Kings problem is people aren’t buying his spin anymore. Everyone can see this isn’t a top 6 squad as he claimed and if he doesn’t invest and this season peters out season ticket sales will be well down.

The majority of supporters also claimed it was a top 6 squad. Ultimately there has been a collective failure at the club that has got us to this point. Most of this is due to people at the club prior to King.

But King is the one publicly saying in interviews after he sacked Robins we should be top 6 when most of us had realised by then that’s not the case. King has over seen what 4 windows now ? In the last 3 he has failed to address the gaps in the squad. I am a DK fan and can see the good he has done for us but it’s clear he needs an experienced DOF to oversee the transfer side of the club

We just need some reinforcements to get us through to the summer, imperative we stay in this league. A couple of loans will do it for me. Heard a rumour about Rob Holding is a name that has been banded about

He asked for extra revenue from STs and merchandise. He has had that and basically fucked it up.

Hes trying to re recruit one.
Though I find the fact he refers to the position as sporting director rather than director of football more worrying thanI probably should.

I think that's because he is someone who wouldn't want to close the door on any sporting or other commercial opportunities that present themselves.

It's an excellent series on the BBC, that makes a change.

It's the story behind how the SAS was formed in the second World War.

Excellent acting and action, the main character is Paddy Mayne, really name, Jack O'Connell.

I can highly recommend it.
