We've arrived in Milan on route to Turin following a few hours in Hamburg.

What a complete dive. Was here for a few hours in the summer on the pre season tour and thought it was bad then, not this bad though!

The southern European nations love a good bit of graffiti....and to be fair, a good portion of it (especially in spain & Portugal) is politically charged & motivated.....its "the writing on the wall".....

I have to say that I hated Milan when I was there....I didn't think it was a dive...in fact its got some stunning buildings & parks etc. but its also full of thieving little pick-pocket scum....

...even makes Barcelona feel crime free !!!

Anyway, Have a good trip & look after each other after a few beers.......It may be an England friendly, but you can guarantee there will still be a few cunts with blades on mopeds buzzing around...

Seems to be a lot of empty seats. Shows how well are fans do to get Wembley so full against the lesser nations.

Keeping an eye out for CJ, expect he will be there in his Cov shirt with his face painted and a half and half scarf!

How average does that Clyne look on the ball. Takes so long to think about the pass, that everybody has moved elsewhere when he plays it. Our back four look pedestrian when knocking it about (England, not City that is )

It's awful. I missed the first 10 and still can't work out what the formation is. Phil Jones in midfield??????

I often draw comparisons between England and the City. Quite often they flatter to deceive and don't turn up in games and buckle under the slightest pressure. They both seem pedestrian at times too and very predictable and you always seem to get the errors that lead to goals.

Why was I born in Coventry, England?

walker for Clyne I see.

Not at all convinced by Clyne. Some of his distribution has been dreadful.

Think Rooney has done alright and Jagielka, apart from that one mistake.

Delph's passing is shocking too at times.

England too often make the wrong choices too. Been doing it for years. Situations like Barclay just had. He squares that ball and Rooney was in. Too often we waste great opportunities. Sturridge is another big culprit a well.

Go for glory rather than put a team mate in on goal

Logged back on here just to make the Delph is shocking point - a couple of bad players can really drag a whole team down

A much better second half, much better now we have a couple of ball carriers (and carrick) in midfield.

i like Barclay.

His first movement with the ball is invariably forwards. He is always looking to create something and has a great turn of pace about him too.

The downside though is on a couple of occasions tonight he lost the ball and made no attempt to get it back again, merely giving up the ghost. That is not an acceptable part of his game, but going forwards he gives us options.

great second half. England should have won by a couple.

Rooney missed a sitter

Barkley will be a good player in time, needs to learn to get his head up.

Hope Andros Townsend can kick on from his goal, he's a player I like. I feel he should be a better player than he's shown in his career up to this point.

Was more than happy with that performance. Shame a small amount of idiots couldnt behave themselves last night. Btw you will never ever catch me in a club shirt at an international or a half half scarf and facepaint anywhere!

Shame the game wasn't played on 7th May - would have meant 3000 less votes for UKIP. Some of the songs they still sing are embarrassing, and nothing to do with supprting the team. 10 German bombers, good Lord

I had a CD on when they were playing yesterday. Songs are either No Surrender, Ten German Bombers etc. And don't get me started on that f*cking band.

I only realised earlier that I didn't hear or see them. Hopefully it becomes a regular thing. The vast majority of what is sang away is related to the team. Tbh you won't catch me voting for UKIP. Most others that travel no doubt will be the same. After all, who in their right mind would want Nige as the PM?!

the WW2 references are so cringe is sad......

...did the Italian fans taunt you back with the fact that you ran away before being conquered in 43AD??

CJ, my UKIP comment was tongue in cheek (to some extent!), but it really is cringeworthy to listen to the war references. Isn't it time that we all got over this and moved on. Rememberance is one thing, and is important of course, but a jingoistic celebration at a footie match is something different. I wonder whats in store for the Dublin friendly?

Judging by the trip to Glasgow I doubt they'll be anything to write home about. What happened was blown out of proportion.

Fair enough mate. And having attended the friendly at Wembley there were a few Irish fans in the pub (Celtic fans) singing rebel songs - pisses at lot of Irish fans off to be honest as it is time to move on.

I think we actually did meet in a pub on Whitehall in the afternoon, and discusse the doom and glom of being Cov fans (I think there were a fe EDL clowns in there too if I remember).

Dunno if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I see the big England/Born to be Cov flag was stolen by Italian 'Ultras'. There's a photo on FB of half a dozen of them holding it upside down as an apparent insult.

That was a trio of Cov fans that got jumped by 15 Juventus outside the ground. When the attack happened they were discussing Jones' inclusion (no singing and keeping a low profile). One of the three had horrific facial injuries. There were one or two other incidents. It was always going to happen though given the location.

Understandably some wounds never heel. Sadly the wrong people were targeted as it's unlikely anyone involved back then would dare show their faces.
