Had a funny feeling ever since the start of the season that our fate will be decided at St Mary's on the final day of the season. Recent results have only further worried me, and lets be honest, Southampton isn't going to be the easiest place to go and get 3 points, which is what I think we will need to stay up. Oh well, i'd definitely be up for it, with (hopefully) 5,000 other sky blues fans and we'd go there and win (hopefully) PUSB
I've already got a ticket in Corporate Hospitality for that game with Southampton fans. Actually I do not think I will be taking it as we will be down and they will be up long before that and I will not be able to stand the humiliation.
Seriously, if we are in with a shout with one match to go I would take that now.
Funny how things turn out, our first season in the Old Division we had to go to Southampton get a point to stay up, Maurice Setters kicked the shit out of Wynne Davis the the Saints centre forward we drew 0 - 0. Went there on the old Sky Blue Special train what a day, life ago now happy days
We stand a chance against Saints if we need a result to stay up on the last game as it will likely be on the back of a penultimate 9 game winning streak. Seriously, we are looking buried by February, the only factor in our favour is the topsy turvy nature of possible results in this League and the mediocrity around us. Maybe just maybe there are 3 worse teams than us out there, maybe we saw one of them today, but our survival would depend on 3 points on days like today.
The "diamond" isn't working, it worked with Gunny & marlon towards the end of last season but without their quality it seems very ineffective. If we are in a relegation scrap just can't see us winning when we need to, we are just too toothless going forward
