Good enough to play for England?

Only seen little snippets of him, but I see that he was born in England, but has Irish grandparents and can't make his mind up whether to play for Republic of Ireland or England.

Obviously we want him if he's good enough, or going to be good enough, don't we?

Maybe this might help make his mind up ....

That is the Daily Mail though, so you can probably turn the notch down on that story about 80%. He's decided to not be called up for the Republic of Ireland v England friendly while he makes his mind up which way to go with things.

Yeah good enough for England in the future
Was very Impressed by him for NC last season
A good comparison player to measure how Maddison really is or could be

Can't say I blame him. If his heart is not in it then fair enough. Kilbane made this point on the BBC website. He always wanted to play for Ireland despite representing England at junior level - Irish parents in his case as opposd to grandparents for Grealish, so the link to Ireland is likely to be stronger (I would have been the same as Kilbane- apart from my complete lack of footballing ability! - not that I am suggesting that Kilbane was a world beater mind you)

I too have Irish parents and would have chosen to represent Ireland without even thinking about it.

Remember him playing against us for Notts County at their place a couple of years ago, we took a huge number of fans spread the length of their left wing where he was in the process of destroying our defnce seemingly at ease.

He got stick for the whole of the 2nd half if I rememebr correctly, mainly for his style of play and mannerism which replicated Cristiano Ronaldo in his early PL days, he took the stick and seemed to strive off it, which was impressive for such a young player.

PS, I am not saying that he has anywhere near the quality of an early PL C Ronaldo

Southgate has finally ran out of players so called him up. Good move by Southgate gets the press off his case and might bring him on for ten minutes at some point.
