No wonder you vote Tory. The glory days of spending £6m of somebody else's money with no real prospect of paying it back.

The seven-figure tale of how Turkish owner is keeping Crawley afloat - and why sale of star striker looks inevitable

Why wouldn't he be worth 500K considering the amount of money being thrown about in the Football League alone at the moment?
Thats the problem with football higher up the leagues it creates crazy prices and cascades down.
Reality is he's a top league two striker, who can do it in league one too but that's his ceiling.
I'd say 400k should be tops for him for a league two buyer. 500k if a league one side are interested

in upper echelons teams can afford to pay over odds. doubt many if any can in league 2
Probably has come to a stall as Crawley try to get the best fee possible, which most likely will be from Luton. Just hope a deal happens either way so it stops it from giving us false hope.I asked the other day and got told its still ongoing
If he refuses to sign a deal with Luton knowing that we're next in line then there is nothing that Crawley can do than accept our offer.Probably has come to a stall as Crawley try to get the best fee possible, which most likely will be from Luton. We can only hope. That's the only thing that we've got going for us in this case, the fact that he's s cov fan!If he refuses to sign a deal with Luton knowing that we're next in line then there is nothing that Crawley can do than accept our offer.
I imagine (hope) that's what the hold up is with Crawly trying to squeeze our offer up.
IIRC we were waiting for the embargo to be lifted. I did speak to someone in the know, who told me a slightly different version. This Was the scenario we last tried to sign him and he went elsewhere.
Swindon I think
That and the fact he has a young family and lives locally so doesn't want to be travelling to Luton. If we are in a bidding war the only thing that May sways collins to us is that he is a Coventry fan.

Lutons closer than Crawley....

Was speaking to his old man in the Walsgrave pub a couple of weeks ago. Cov are interested and have put together a deal of which Collins is satisfied with the personal terms and would prefer to come here being a fan and all.
However, Luton have apparently offered a higher fee, thus Crawley and I dare say his agent, would prefer him to accept.
This is where Collins can exercise his player power. By merely stating he doesn't want to play for Luton and wants to play for the club he supported as a boy.
All in his hands I reckon....
Is he even that good?
Oh no.Always thought of him as a a crap version of James Hanson
