Would be surprised if Bidwell starts next year but he offers experience throughout the squad and a level of aggression we overall lack.One thing that is becoming clear is that Frank is a pragmatist.
He started out wanting to play out from the back and through the lines but we have largely stopped that unless it’s genuinely safe to do so. We are also playing a much higher line now than when he first joined.
It might be that he knows that Bidwell and Paterson are not the answer but they are solid options for now.

We weren't going to ever bring a LB in unless one of Dasilva or Bidwell were moved on.
Keeping Bidwell makes sense. He'll likely be put on a lesser contract, and he has invaluable experience that is sorely lacking in this team.
I don't really get the doom and gloom about retaining him to be honest.
Far better to keep him than Dasilva who is a complete liability.

I agree with this up to a point. Bidwell is not poor but he’s not going to get any quicker, and ideally we’d replace them both in the summer.Bidwell is poor and getting worse. The Godden comparison is apt. We need two LBs really.
