Huge result in so many ways

A six pointer in terms of play off hopes

A defeat would have ended the hopes.

It drags Rotherham back

Huge result in terms of confidence for the team and the captain.

Huge result to really give SISU a conundrum.
If we get bids for Clarke and Wilson.

If we were out of it, the bid would be accepted.

Now they will really have to think hard about it.

As potentially they may accept a million and be giving up the chance of receiving 5 million.

Also they are now potentially more likely to support SP in any requests he makes

Massive Massive result well done lads

They need to keep in touch in January

Wilson won't be going anywhere now if he's out for 3 months. And if this is the case and Dagnal goes back, to sell Clarke would be lunacy, even by our boards standards

How come he is out for 3 months?
If that's the case waggot needs to get the cheque book out and quick

The Dilemna the board face at the moment is to plan ahead ,a decision needs to be made either to push for promotion and £4-£5m. increased revenues ,or hedge that we're not going to make It and sell to boost Income and Turnover for next years FFP cap .I'm not sure whether that makes a difference In either league ,but think the salary cap is based on this years turnover.

I think it's important we add numbers to our squad as well as keeping those already here
Probably need a centre half, centre mid, wide player and striker in addition to what we have now

Let's remind ourselves here that they could increase revenues in a moment by coming back to Coventry. Their objective is to get the Ricoh, they care not a jot for the team.

listening to murphy's post match interview ,he seemed to think there were a few teams looking at baker..i know he's not everyones cup of tea but would be a massive loss to us if he went

I think for the first time in many years other clubs might be interested in almost our entire first 11.

I think Carl Baker is the most likely to go and his recent goal burst might accelerate that. I am not that sure if he into Pressley's long term plans. I did hear that this Dutch trialist was apparently impressive in his trial period, think he is a pacey wide player and probably cheaper wage wise than Baker

The guy is a great figurehead off the pitch regardless of his form on it. He's also our only experienced player in midfield. I'd be amazed if he's not in Pressleys plans.

Id expect Manset, Christie and maybe Murphy to go (though he's more likely to go on a free and more disruptive to lose mid season, plus he's worth less so he's a nice test of football over finance if we reject bids for him).

Possibly Barton too considering Daniels start and Waggots (Pressleys?) comments about players not happy they're getting a game.

I reckon we'll try for Dagnall and Seaborne and a winger. Maybe a loanee in midfield if Thomas or Fleck (or god forbid both) is out for a bit.

I think despite the overall SISU negativity they have said that they will keep the team so lets see if they keep their word on this one. I was suprised we didnt sell our best players in the summer but we clearly need to add in certain places to cover injuries so would expect a few more loanees to come in.

have i missed the point, what has S'ton got to do with it?

There is a suggestion 5 or 6 of their players are going to be targeted in the window.

Its nothing to do with our finances as to if players stay. It's who bids - if a player gets a bigger club moving in for him he goes - that's the way if the world.

I do ironically think that the injury to Callum Wilson will enable us to keep all the current squad, since Leon was my biggest concern by far, with the loan guy looking likely to sign for us permanently ... hence we would have had 2 strikers. Now, it would be madness to sell our top goal scorer whilst the 2nd goal scorer is out for the forseeable ... but stranger things have happened !

agreed, but i think it is a bit of both to be honest, if they think we are skint we will recieve low offers but down to our owners to bat them back. Every player has a price unfortunately.
