Someone keep an eye on the Cov Twitter, that also says 'some guff coming up, stay tuned...' or similar. We'll cover all bases and wring the truth out of this.

What rumours are they then?

I was thinking it was quiet on that front

The rumours with Polanski were that he was playing with the development team and they'll decide tomorrow. Potemkin would be welcome as we still seem more than a little light up top.

Can someone explain why 'Jeno' is a great signing if this is in fact so?
From my quick look heis best years were at Tranmere then Motherwell where he has scored just 8 times in almost 240 appearances combined?
At 5'7" not a big lad and Tramere and Motherwell does not inspire me in thinking this is some kind of 'best signing of the year so far' appreciation society?

....unless someone can convince me otherwise?

About bloody time if he has signed. If not then they had better pull their finger out.

If he signs I would say we would have the strongest midfield. He is a ball winner. We need a ball winner. I would have added confidence for this season. He is also one of them sort of players that plays about every game.

Hurry up Jennings. Want to see you play for us on Saturday.

He's not a goalscorer he's a defensive midfielder. He nasty and comitted and breaks up attacks

Maybe not the signing of the year but exactly what we're looking for. Not a goalscoring midfielder so why do goals come into. He has a job and we've been told he does that job fairly well.

He's the graft that will support Barton and release Fleck.

Oh Paxman

We need a player that will stop attacks as they come towards our penalty area. We need a player that will put in good hard tackles all game long. We need a player with natural fitness that can run all game. We need a player that can keep it simple most of the time, but can also spot a player and do a 30 yard pass with accuracy. He is all this plus more.

Did you see the goal against rangers he got that I posted on here? He ran nearly the whole length of the pitch.......and that was after playing for 90 mins. 90 mins of non stop playing in the middle of the park against a team that was attacking most of the time. I have had enough of losing points at the end of games. We will have a DM that will add strength in the middle, but will also help the defence out.

Just wait until you see him play. You will see what I mean. Motherwell tried their best to keep him, but he wanted to come back to England. He is a top spot by whoever noticed him. Would have prefered a longer contract than 2 years though.

Is he another Deegan? How's his disciplinary record?

Jennings has never been a goalscorer , he is a Carsley/Palmer/McGrath type player .

Motherwell fans loved him and he did a great job for them , more than good enough for L1

Nothing like building him up hey? I hope he is an improvement on the Jennings i saw in the friendly at Bristol as that one looked like a slightly more skilled version of Deegan.

Great I look forward to him making all the difference for us then! But a player who has plied his skills at Motherwell and Tranmere is not very inspirational for me. I would love to be proven wrong. Battlers are a good thing like we had with Doyle but that never got us anywhere did it?
I remain to be convinced. Sorry.

Isn't that the point of new players though, they're there to convince you?

There is a difference between a battler like Doyle and one like Carsley ....

You need a footballing brain too , Jennings isnt going to win us games with bursts of skill but will hopefully stop us losing them through inability to shut games out

Not bigging him up.

Does anyone remember what my son said about Juke? Was right about everything. I believe him over any doubters we have. He watched him for 3 seasons. They never had Juke that long.

Is he like Deegan? You know how to insult a player. Anything Deegan can do he can do better. I just hope we have him in time for Yeovil.

Right, got to finish packing for Yeovil. Been up since yesterday morning. Leaving here about 1am. Hope to meet up with some of you for a few jars.

I don't think anyone's saying that. They're just optimistic over a new signing in the hope he'll be good. The nerve.
