He's no where near good enough at that level anyway.

Given the world was supposed to fall in when he was injured out form hasn't declined at all.

I have to disagree Reda Johnson (if fit) is a top 6 championship defender. He's the best centre back in league one by miles.
Our record when he's in the team is excellent not to mention his goal scoring record.

His only question mark is his fitness.

I personally feel. If we go up automatically or via the play offs. We will get close to 12k Season ticket holders double what we have now. We will have a fair budget.

He was solid for Wednesday in championship for a few season when fit he is a major asset to any team but fitness issues are holding his career back

Not at centre half he wasn't Wednesday fans I have spoken to thought he was shit at centre half...but a good attacking fullback; but that is the position that makes him prone to injury.

Out of that lot only fleck and Maddison.

Ricketts is too old, Reda isn't good enough and we've got enough question marks over RCC.

Ramires would do well if he fancies a season long loan from Chelsea

Fleck and Madders agree

Would argue Vincelot would be able to cut it in championship also...

Also disagree on Reda not being good enough, think he is easily a championship defender, and would sign him back up should we get promoted.

But barring those 4 don't think we OWN any other players that should 100% start. I would give stokes the chance before signing anyone, as I rate him highly but would have to see.

Other than that keep: RCC, Ricketts, Bigi and Cole (if signed), JOB, Lamerias, Martin, G Thomas and willis as squad players. (excluding youngsters such as Stevenson)

We could swap himself and stokes then

I can only imagine you lot didn't attend the Oldham game before Christmas? Because I did, and what I seen that day from Gael Bigirimana will stay with me for a very long time. Ran the show from start to finish. I know he's a man of Christ, but from that performance I almost felt like it was the second coming of the big man himself.

The idea of wholesale change is wrong. If a team has had a good season and is used to getting results, why break it up on the assumption that some players aren't good enough. The gulf between L1 and the Championship is exaggerated on here at times.

The first half of that Oldham game, I'm almost certain Bigi touched the ball more times than the entire Oldham team put together. Most of it was passes around the back, but I guess he was saving his energy for his birthday celebrations on the 25th.

I think it's more the fact our best players are loans, and the fact is half our squad is out of contract, and although yes they are good squad players in league one, eg fortune, we would rather spend budget on our own good first teamers.
Also fact is Bristol smashed this league last year... And are in the bottom 3? We are putting up a good fight compared. They have a much bigger budget than us. The fact is the gulf is huge, and it will take good recruiting to make us competitive, the players we have now who have a good game every 1/4 need to improve or be replaced as we can't afford that in a better league surely?

everyone keeps going on about bristol smashing the league but maybe this year is just more competitive?

right now 5 teams going for 1st spot

its easy to say this is best year to win league as its weak with no standout teams but thats not necessarily true. maybe there are 5 standout teams this time.

its same as prem this year. keep hearing its worst in years quality wise but really its just more competitive than ever. mid table teams can buy likes of lukaku, shaqiri, rondon, cabaye now there is so much cash floating around. thats why top 4 hunt is crazy this year and some big teams are struggling.

ive gone off topic but if we get promoted it doesnt make us favs for relegation next year

Yeah it is possible that this year there are '5 standout teams' but tbh having watched the games, some of the teams in the top half including top 6 are nowhere near as good as previous years.

As daft as it may seem I can only agree re. Gary McSheffrey. Give him a squad number, but with the intention of getting him into coaching. Like Joe Cole, it can only be good for squad morale having someone of his mould around

Hi Nick,

Although the two recent sign-ups earlier were referred by myself, I didn't realise they would be clear WUMs. Check my post history and you'll see I've always been singing Bigirimanas praises. They asked what I was on after viewing my computer and I told them.

Can you kindly unblock the IP? My job is mind-numbingly boring at the best of times and browsing this forum at work is one of the small things that gets me through the day.

Yours faithfully

A bit concerned about the fact he is excused training at the moment. I would have thought getting fitter would be top of his priorities.

TBF I get your concern to a degree, especially with Cole but I'm sure they know what he's got in the tank.
I see Armas gone home to Geordie land for a few days.
I said it the last free weekend we had off due to the cup exit would be a good time to let the lads off the leash and the same could apply this week, a few days in the sun maybe.
If the funds were there I'd have taken them to Tenerife or somewhere.
Remember Glazier saying JH used to give them a pass now and again If they were achieving his goals, goes a long way IMO.

I have to as when the forum blacklists their IP, email and username it deletes their posts. The thread wouldn't make sense.

I think it is cleared now

If you delete the user I believe the posts will remain as a guest account. Maybe have new registrations on approval so you can approve the ip first?

Nah, it isn't deleting the user. It wipes it out and blacklists it, it then goes back to a central database for other forums etc. Then when they report stuff it protects here it against spammers

It would be very messy if the 70423 registrations blocked had all got through, spam everywhere

I'm happy. His experience could prove invaluable. If Mowbray trusts in him to deliver then that's fine by me.

His quality of dead ball delivery may prove crucial too.
