Jukes Disallowed Goals (2 Viewers)

At the time I didn't see much wrong with either - the first just looked like Loach dropped the ball and the second the off-side was difficult to judge but he didn't appear to be away from the defender when Clingan took the shot. Just wondered if anyone had seen a replay of the incidents? Obviously BBC didn't show them on FLS as that would be far too unbiased but wondered if they might have appeared somewhere else.

They are on the website :)

Take a look here!

Looking at it, both goals should have stood but the 2nd one was close.

I think their Goalie even admitted on Twitter it should have been a goal.

Can't see anything wrong with the first disallowed goal, but the second one Lukas looked offside to me. Coverage didn't show that sitter Holt missed from either - biased?

Yep, it didn't show any of Graham's misses.

Maybe he requested them not to show it

Watched them both in slow motion on the Offal.

The first is a really bad decision. The keeper fumbles the ball and then falls into Juke who isn't moving.

The second is harder to see, but using the pause button (not sad or anything....) he looks at least level.

He's had a bit of bad luck this season, with the "over the line" no goal at Ipswich plus these 2.

Looking on the bright side - at least it made no difference to the result!

Thanks Nick - first one definitely nothing wrong with it, second one hard to tell as he's not in shot when Sammy hits shot so would give lino benefit of the doubt on that one.

Their keeper got way to much protection from the linesman.... I was expecting that Loach to be a quality keeper but hes nowere near Westwood's level.

It does my head that you aren't allowed near goalies now.

If a goalie comes running out you literally have to move out of his way else they get a foul? If they run into you going for the ball then you are fouling them?

Has anyone got a link please of Juke's goal against Hibs last season? I took a guy from work to see the Watford game and I was explaining about this goal, but the BBC link is no longer available and youtube is a banned site here.

Many thanks in advance

Just seen the goals on the bbc.. Both of the disallowed goals should have stood, theres no foul in the first one and the second he was level.
Not that im biased or anything, but non-Coventry friends agree.

Gutted that those 2 goals didn't stand, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the first and I didn't think he was offside for the 2nd! He had an absolutely cracking game!

Definitely nothing wrong with the first, as Loach himself admits! He just dropped it and it bounced off Lukas and in. I will say that he made a couple of other good saves from King and McSheffrey, so didn't have a complete 'mare.

Second one is tougher.."I've seen them given", but I reckon he was maybe JUST offside, although from the TV angle it's hard to tell. He may be just level. Also, I was certain on the day that Loach touched the ball anyway! Hence Lukas couldn't be offside. But I can't tell just now as this work PC I'm on is too slow to show it in freeze-frame!

On another matter-the Cov Telegraph says it was Bell who passes to Aron in the build up to Lukas' goal. I coulda sworn it was Sammy...

Just watched Duke's interview on skybluesplayer he said he spoke to Loach after then game and Loach's reaction was he got away with murder.
( The Juke goal were Loach dropped the ball )

I have to say I've always hated that Scott Loach IMO he's one of the worst GK's in the division yet he seems to have massive plaudits and is capped at England youth level, maybe i'm missing something but has always looked really doggy against Cov.

First one shud have stood after watching link on here (thanks Nick). Second one is more difficult although is say he was on. Neither watford defender or keeper appeal, but lino flags! even ref doubted the lino for the first one as had to ask him what he saw. Once again we were robbed by an official but Atleast this time it didn't affect the result and we got the points we deserved!

first one...Goal.
second one...Goal.

The second one was called offside not when Juke played the ball and put it in the net where he seemed to be level but when the shot fro Clingan was struck (off camera) but surely Juke would have been judged 'not interfering with play'? besides when the ball hits crossbar and rebounds into play he can't be called offside. So it must have been the instant the shot was struck out of camera but as i said 'not interfering with play' and so a goal.

i'll get my coat...

Shame for him, he's worked so hard in the last few games, would have really deserved the hat-trick.

2nd goal: Jutkiewicz would have become 'active' as soon as he touched the ball.

Yeah, it's that crazy "phase of play" crap that you need a qualification in Quantum Physics to understand...Quantum Physics being officially recognised as "more complicated" than Rocket Science these days :p

At least the first was definitely a goal.. and very unlucky with the second..

Shame really as although it was still a great result, we would have scored at least 3... how often in the last few seasons have we scored 3 in a game.

One for the stat experts.. cant be many teams who have so rarely scored 3-4 goals in games in the past few seasons..

Must really get to Barnsley fans that we seem to do it with ease almost every time we play them, even when we are terrible. Heh heh. :claping hands::claping hands::claping hands:
