I agree a massive part of our success last couple of years has been the spine of leaders with fadz Kelly and godden. The only way I’d be happy to let them go is if robins felt he could upgrade the players without losing that leadership.Yes. We can't afford not to.
I think there is some severe delusion on this board (not you Sleepy) that we're somehow in a position to upgrade multiple key positions in the team.
I hope we continue to play in this aggressive style and Kelly and McFadz are a big part of that. Dike certainly knew McFadz was there on Sunday.

If they’re starters next season our ceiling is 17th. Neither are good enough on the ball for the Championship.
Strange you should say that, I've always pictured you as Alan from the HangoverLeaders of the pack
We’re 3 points from 14th as things stand now... it’s not even our ‘ceiling’ now.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Robin's does a Michael Doyle on Kelly. I love Kelly and what he's done for us but you need better than someone who's going to aimlessly lob the ball forward from time to time during matches at this level.
First mission in the Championship is to somehow stay in it, we're almost there. Next step is to see how we improve on that. I'm not convinced starting Kelly in such a key position is going to allow us to do that.
Don't think there's anything wrong with McFadz passing, perhaps his split second decision making but not the actual execution, if we're going for a more direct, aggressive style I think the danger of mistakes and the need to be great on the ball becomes greatly reduced. Just not going to get players at this level, or within our budget, who defend like Osti and McFadz do but also consistently knock 60 yard passes around.
Kelly's medium/long passing has been exposed in the last couple of games but there also won't be many teams that play as high a line as Barnsley were. It's odd because Kelly's mid-range diagonal passing was superb last year, perhaps he's not fully up to speed after his own injury issues or maybe just the speed and reduced time/space in the Championship is showing.
And what league position does '3 points from 14th' get you?
With 12 points left to play for, it obviously suggests that 17th is not our ceiling. Not to mention both our top scoring strikers haven’t been fit for most of this season.
With the right additions, we’ll be decent mid table outfit with a solid foundation.
Less the passing for McFadz and more the habit of being caught on the ball.
Maybe I’m just hoping we don’t become Barnsley Mk2 next season and spend all year lumping the ball from back to front. Maybe I’m naive.
What? I’d be more than happy to swap places with them. We have made a lot of mistakes this season by trying to play it around in defence. Yet, we’ve madequite a few of our goals by forcing errors from teams trying to play it from the back, the best example being against Brentford (H).
Strange you should say that, I've always pictured you as Alan from the Hangover
No, us being above 17th would suggest that and IIRC we’ve managed that once for one game all season. Look I’d love is to win the last four games and storm to mid table, but let’s be realistic, we’re unlikely to win 6/7 of our last games. We’ll likely finish 17th at best and if we don’t it’ll be more down to getting results when everyone else is on the beach than our true level over the season.
I agree completely with your last paragraph. I just think one of those additions is someone who can play DM without another player holding their hand.
I agree with this! Priority is replacing the peripheral senior players with guys who can contribute more to the first team, that might mean McFadzean dropping down the pecking order, but should keep him.Agreed.
People want us to upgrade Shipley/Allen/Biamou/Baka etc. We can't upgrade all them AND Kelly/Fadz/Hyam/Marosi etc
James for Kelly seems like when Kelly took the reigns from Doyle. An experienced centre back slightly younger and better than mcfadzean would be high on list of priorities for the summer I think.
