Talking of backtracking....weren't you the one who couldn't get enough of Ray Ranson & SISU?
Oh this
Completely different kettle of fish. Yes I was a fan of SISU's initial strategy for the club of recruiting young talented players and steadily building a squad. Weren't we all? That was before they bailed on the plan and lost touch with on the pitch matters though (leading to the inevitable resignations - cue bitter anti-Ranson rants from a certain poster).
To steal a great comparison from a fellow poster:
Some of us agreed with Blair's first 100 days in office. That doesn't mean we agreed with the foreign policies that followed!
Backtracking again! You do make me laugh. So now it doesn't even matter that a top Championship club is/was interested?
I'll just ignore that attempt at comedy *cringe*
Actually one of the football man's visions was that the club has a small squad of 22 players two for each position.
We clearly are now back on track with that vision.
As for pulling the plug on ransoms "vision" they didn't do it early enough. A succession of clueless managers, sanctioning an outrageous deal for Eastwood when McCarthy was virtually delivering him to our door and a club who's league position was terminally in decline.
So you talk about credibility yet defend the football man.
How is it backtracking?
Cardiff were interested, but not enough to actually pay a decent amount of money for what would amount to a squad player.
Still doesn't make him a Premiership player does it? Makes him what he is, a mid to low ranking Championship player, who we've got a lot of money for.
As for Ranson, his plan of trousering money from the club worked a treat, think the only "plan" he had though.
I am saying however that if there is a player that apparently is more than good enough to play in the Premiership then some top Championship clubs might be interested in him.
No top Championship club wants to sign Keogh.
Ranson's vision was to have a squad relying on inexperienced kids from the academy was it? Or did financial matters dictate that one?
A succession of 'clueless' managers that had gotten teams promoted from our division before taking on the Coventry City job. Yes it's always the manager's fault isn't it? Because things really are that simple.
Haha. As soon as him name came up you just couldn't help yourself could you?
I would suggest that Cardiff are a top end Championship club that were "interested" in him as you yourself put it.
By your very own logic that would make him good enough to be a Premiership player.
If he is a low ranking Championship player why would these clubs want to recruit him to improve their squads? Especially a top end club!
I think the argument was lost when Barnett became the player that Keogh could never be!
Some well thought-out theories put forward there once again though. More managers with that on their CV than not no?
Still waiting to see which clubs Coleman and Thorn got promoted.
If that's all you can muster then I'll say goodnight now. Ta ta.
For the first time in a long time we appear to be getting decent value for our players. If the rumours are true a very good deal by the club with one year left on his contract.
Not good having your best player leave but a very good deal under the circumstances
