COVENTRY City boss Aidy Boothroyd insists star goalkeeper Keiren Westwood will not be sold in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old stopper has been linked with Scottish giants Celtic who are reported to be ready to offer him a pre-contract agreement with a view to signing the free agent at the end of the season.
The Sky Blues could try to cash in on the player by attempting to sell him, albeit at a vastly reduced price given that he only has a few months left on his deal, but Boothroyd said: "I tell you now, we are coming up to January and he’ll not be going anywhere.
"I would rather his contract ran down and he went for nothing if that’s going to happen.
"We are fifth in the league at the moment and looking to finish a lot better than we have done over the last ten years but what you don’t do is sell your best players, and you certainly don’t sell them when you get next to nothing for them.
"So he will not be going anywhere and neither will anyone else unless we want to sell them, and we don’t want to be doing that right now."
