The agent always has a piece to share.

I have to be honest, until King signs on the dotted line I will not be getting too excited.

Will be very embarrassing for CCFC if King does not commit, as this was even published on official website

If Andy Thorn's quoting of King is correct, the only party that would need to feel embarrassed would be the player himself.

You wouldn't of thought so. Maybe it's his agent with a last minute shot at getting a few more quid for him

Smacks of desperation to shift some more season tickets - nothing has been signed so there is nothing to report and nothing should have been reported until the deal was signed and sealed. It is very unprofessional of the club to put this on the offal and they will look very foolish if he turns around and denies agreeing to anything - a verbal contract isn't worth the paper its written on. In this modern age of email, faxes, blackberries, cheap air travel etc it wouldn't have been that hard to get a signature so until it is actually signed it is a total non story - hope he does sign but won't be getting excited until the ink is dry.

Thorn Is quoted in the telegraph as saying King phoned him to tell him? How do we explain that?

wtf?

I am confused now
Surely if the conversation between Thorn and King took place as reported than there can be no doubt of where he is committing him self too, the club seem to think it is official with all the reports and Clouting's interview on the BBC site.
This is going to leave egg on the clubs face and lots of angry supporters if King walks away now.

Sack your agent King and get the deal signed

I'm confused as to why this is running on two threads.

I can't see that there are two threads running. The other sky sports thread suggests that King has agreed to sign a new deal!

Where as this article suggests otherwise.

Have you read the other thread Erica? It Says Sky Sports News - King. It starts with the subject that King has agreed and then progresses to the latest news posted on ..........Would you believe it Sky Sports News. Exactly the same discussion is being held on two threads. A bit pointless imo.

Tbh I wouldn't read too much into it. If Marlon has phoned Andy to say he's signing, I have every confidence he will. It's an agents job to keep other parties interested so he's just doing his job. The fact his job makes him a prick is besides the point - though disruptive :jerkit:

This is an outrage! That or Thorn and the club have been extremely naive. But they wouldn't have said what they did unless they were certain King would sign, surely?

Seems fishy one way or another-just a day ago he was all set to sign for Lei scum according to some reports. Maybe just SKY trying to fill some space/airtime with this story-lets ruddy well hope so.

It sounds to me as if King has agreed to stay but hasn't agreed on contract terms yet?
Is this what it seem to others?

It sounds like this may be a PR stunt by the club. I assume Marlon will have hinted that he is thinking about staying and they've released this statement saying he has agreed. If he went to another club now it would look terrible for him, he would lose a lot of respect, and the club knows this!

Come on, do you really think they're that stupid. If they released a statement saying King's agreed to a deal when he hadn't they would know it would come out and how much that would backfire on them. Brody's come out and said the sky story is unsubstantiated so lets just see.

I believe the club's quotes on Marlon, i think it'd be a really silly thing for them to lie about it and i don't think they'd do it!
What it looks like to me is Marlon has said to the club he wants to stay, but his agent is still out and about looking for more $$$.

Ken & Andy have verbal agreement from both agent and Marlon as stated. Not sure where the unsubstantiated Sky story came from. #ccfc #PUSB

Thread over please close.

That would be an awful idea and would look worse on the club than it does on King.

I believe King has stated he is saying and wants to stay but no contract terms have been agreed as of yet.

That would make sense and tie in with what the agent has said with no agreement yet in terms of a contract

I don't see it being a PR stunt, as the potential backlash would FAR outweigh the benefit.

Also what with all the hate to Brody on twitter?:thinking about:

He is the only person who tries to keep good communications with the fans and keep them informed and all he gets is abuse from the fans.

No, it isn't. It's the board. We've heard from Ken Dulieu and Leonard Brody. Neither are part of SISU. SISU just own the club.

Read brody on twitter. He says this afternoons story on sky was totally unsubstantiated, Marlon and his agent have a verbal agreement with ken dileu and Andy thorn which will become formal when Marlon returns from his family Holly bobs in benidorm.

They should all be made to quote dates and times of such news who knows which report came first. Why would our manager say this if the call did not take place, as mentioned it would be very embarrassing for the player should they u turn this one. I for one will give him the benefit of the doubt and if he does sign he restores a bit of loyalty to football IMO.
