But on the other hand, you sack Robins 2 days before Sunderland away and see it how it goes, rather than waiting until after that game when there's a 2 week break...Load of bollocksyou don’t bring somebody in and just give them a game the next day, and see how it goes
rumour, he hasn’t even accepted it
Does anyone agree with the timing for Mark? Think most disagree with the sacking but we are where we are.But on the other hand, you sack Robins 2 days before Sunderland away and see it how it goes, rather than waiting until after that game when there's a 2 week break...
He’s never improved a clubs league positionWhich makes the indomitable defence of his dubious managerial record even more bizarre.
not quite the same is it, he was getting sacked at some point and the interim normally knows the set up and players, it’s not that different, every new manager/coach gets a few days before a game and they’re always “ in the stands “ for one game, it’ll be after the Burnley game, or maybe even later, which makes perfect senseBut on the other hand, you sack Robins 2 days before Sunderland away and see it how it goes, rather than waiting until after that game when there's a 2 week break...
Well the same man is making the decision on the appointment, so there shouldn't be any reason to delay the announcement (other than protecting Lampard) the short notice before a game shouldn't be a problem!Does anyone agree with the timing for Mark? No, I agree, it's not the same. King was frit scared we were going to go on our usual run from November onwards, so panicked and desperately sacked him after the Derby game in case we battered Sunderland in true CCFC style.not quite the same is it, he was getting sacked at some point and the interim normally knows the set up and players, it’s not that different, every new manager/coach gets a few days before a game and they’re always “ in the stands “ for one game, it’ll be after the Burnley game, or maybe even later, which makes perfect sense
Difference in a manager leaving and one joining tho. Waiting 2 days until the international break would be better though?Difference in a manager leaving and one joining tho. Caretakers work with the squad and know the lads.
Joining one needs time especially without preseason. You’d be throwing him to the wolves for no other reason than to do it
i Don’t think that teams capable of going on a run this Season, unless the new gaffer can work miracles or gets some major help in January its a mid table season, but after the last 2 seasons I’d of taken that with robins, obviously Doug wasn’t willing toNo, I agree, it's not the same. We'll never know, the Middlesbrough win felt like that switch had been flicked, and it's typical Cov to lose against Derby and beat Sunderland to win 3 out of 4. There certainly would have been no harm in waiting. King was clearly desperate to do this. Personally, Robins is allowed a midtable season after 7 years of being consistently brilliant, even Fergie had the odd rebuild season where they didn't win much.i Don’t think that teams capable of going on a run this Season, unless the new gaffer can work miracles or gets some major help in January its a mid table season, but after the last 2 seasons I’d of taken that with robins, obviously Doug wasn’t willing to
Don’t disagree but one bad decision shouldn’t cause another oneWaiting 2 days until the international break would be better though?
How long does it take to recruit an out of work manager that you were in talks with 2 weeks ago?not quite the same is it, he was getting sacked at some point and the interim normally knows the set up and players, it’s not that different, every new manager/coach gets a few days before a game and they’re always “ in the stands “ for one game, it’ll be after the Burnley game, or maybe even later, which makes perfect sense
I really hope you're right, but it can't help like feeling like a return to the madness/normality of the managerial merry-go-round and lunatic owner days. Hope I'm wrong, but Doug has outed himself as either another nutjob or an unexpected football genius. If/when Lampard is finally appointed, I won't agree with the decision, but I'll still support the team and hope to be proven wrong, I am just very concerned about the direction we're going in based on what I saw supporting this club before Robins.I’d of thought Edward’s would have gone before robins, they look really in trouble, whatever you think of Doug he’s got some bollocks on him, he’s put his neck on the line and he knows it, could be a genius move, try not to think about if he’s totally fucked up the last 7 years it’s taken robins to give us our club back, could do a lot worse than Lampard
Tbf, wasn't MR out of work for 14 months after he left Scunthorpe, before we picked him up ?With Lampard you have to ask why has no club been in for him in the last year he’s been out of work
Bit different. Lampard is a big name, previously premier league manager who has been in the media quite a bit since his last Chelsea stint.Tbf, wasn't MR out of work for 14 months after he left Scunthorpe, before we picked him up ?
Think youv’e nailed the problem there “ Doug says we have a top six or higher deck, I don’t know anyone who honestly thinks that, quicker we get a director of football in the better, great businessman but leave the football side to the football people, he said he wasn’t going to rush to bring someone in and he isn’t ? cant just put together a new coach and coaching staff and contracts in a week, that’s if lampards actually agreed to what we’re offering ?How long does it take to recruit an out of work manager that you were in talks with 2 weeks ago?
Surely if Doug is serious about getting out of this league he would not be waiting until 'after Burnley, or even later' to hand the reigns to transformational manager Lampard? Doug also said many many times at the forum that we 'Have a top 6 or higher deck' so why wait to put your top choice manager in the dugout and in charge of your investment in favour of a coach you publicly said was 'with the greatest respect' not at the level, surely the next couple of games were a free hit?
Austin our recruitment lead who is on the panel for recruitment said it too, which makes sense given he built 'Dougs deck'.Think youv’e nailed the problem there “ Doug says we have a top six or higher deck, I don’t know anyone who honestly thinks that, quicker we get a director of football in the better, great businessman but leave the football side to the football people, he said he wasn’t going to rush to bring someone in and he isn’t ? cant just put together a new coach and coaching staff and contracts in a week, that’s if lampards actually agreed to what we’re offering ?
He’s not been hired, if the last interview was yesterday, the new manager wouldn’t be appointed today and take charge immediately. The players and coaches would be prepping for this game and Burnley already. Even if the new manager was hired this weekend, it’s probably best to have Rhys Carr take both matches. This is where maybe delaying it till after Sheffield is a clever play.
It’s not Franks fault and he shouldn’t be judge for the owners decision
Taking the football insider page at face value but your right. Think to let him come in and observe for the next two would be how h would do itHe’s not been hired, if the last interview was yesterday, the new manager wouldn’t be appointed today and take charge immediately. Tbf we don't know what options he may have had. With Lampard you have to ask why has no club been in for him in the last year he’s been out of work
You have to ask why he’s willing to step down as you say, and why step down to us.
Sunderland, Burnley, Sheffield United, West Brom, Norwich have all looked for managers since he’s been out of work and none of them have gone for him.
Harshest expectation yet! New manager can't even concede a goal!Whoever gets the job should get a clean sheet. People are just over thinking things now based on their perception of who's coming in. As much as we love MR we have to move on.
Is this fact?
When I think of ITK's who are more ITK than me, I just think of everyone.I have no idea.
Was mentioned by someone apparently more ITK than me (tbf that could be anyone)
You could be on to something here...Perhaps Lampard can manage the easy games and we can bring Carr back to manage the tough ones to keep Lampard win percentage intact
The skybet next manager bet has gone on the sky blues. So they reckon its lampard.
