I'm starting to get worried - DK & FL should be too.

Time for DK & FL to act, a look over the shoulder at relegation and a bit of a rant about loans.

You highlight Birmingham being 6 points off… then show them being in 20th while we’re in 16th. The fearmongering is unwarranted.

We’re definitely not too good to go down and I think there does need to be reasonable cause for concern for any team from 14th down.

Only getting 12 points from the last 9 games has demonstrated that we haven’t got what it takes to pull away, we will not get an easier run all season.

Need to start getting results that the data suggests we’re capable of.

Good read. Interesting how many other clubs below us think the same. I don’t think we’re safe by any means. We’re an injury for MvE away from being in a real mess

Pompey losing last night three nil means they only one game in hand now which obviously makes it a tad easier.

Certainly helps. They’re very reliant on their home form

Relegation ffs cone on!!

If we somehow get relegated even with the absolute shite that is below us like Plymouth, I will buy us all a season ticket at Aston Villa and take Luis Binks with us and give him tips on his defensive duties, when Tyrone Mings has the ball obv

Relegation isn't happening, neither is the Villa Season ticket while giving Luis Binks the occasional defensive tip while Mings has the ball.

just like my post, this article is pure waffle.

Posted elsewhere but City’s financial situation is beginning to attract media attention.

Not massive attention but enough for comments about City needing to sell.

Over the next few seasons, City will begin to struggle. I think thats a genuine concern

There's a lot of people in denial.

Our two most potent players are out injured. We don't know when they will be back. We look like we're trying to sell a couple of players that could make a difference. We've brought back players we loaned to Scottish teams that couldn't get game time there. We keep gifting goals to our opponents. We've even just lost a game where we were winning at 90 minutes.

I'm normally one of the most optimistic around. But I'm starting to worry. I remember our fall down the divisions. Never thought we would get relegated......again.

If Wright and EMC come back and hit form we should be OK. But we're certainly getting pulled into a relegation battle.

What media attention?

Every club is operating at a loss, literally every single club in this division, the division above and the divisions below are operating at a loss.

Coventry struggling in a few years, no need to worry my friend, we always have struggled, we have built a young gifted squad off the back of selling 2 players, reaching a play off final, and the fa cup run, this has all contributed.

When the money dries up, players like MVE or Wright or Sheaf or an in form Simms are then moved on, it may be 1, it maybe 2.
Wright and Sheaf find themselves out the door, we recoup £20 million for the 2 players,
Who originally we signed Wright for £7.5 mill (€9mil euros) we paid £750k for Sheaf.

You take that Income and you go again, things are okay mate. Coventry City will always be a club in this position, and I'm fine with It. I don't want our club taking huge risks, Derby did just that and it backfired, Sunderland just signed a player for ridiculous sums, that's gonna back fire on them, just you wait.

I'm happy with us living smart, balancing the books when needs be, rebuilding smart and eventually getting to a point where we have 5 or 6 top tier talents that could bag us a boat load of money.

Things aren't all doom and gloom, we have been there before, I know a broke club when I see one, we aren't that anymore, but let's not for one minute pretend we got £10 million at the ready for Lampard and Austin to piss up a wall.

This is the kind of complacency that gets you relegated. Teams around us are making decisive changes in an attempt to stay up

Yes we’re more likely to finish 10th than 22nd, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go down

This on the other hand is much more sensible. We have to stay smart to compete

Totally agree, we need 2 experienced players (cb and cm) to get these young lads performing.. We also need a number 10.

“The harder I practice, the luckier I get” is a quote by South African golfer Gary Player. The quote is often interpreted to mean that practice and hard work are more important than luck in achieving success.

Blackpool managed it in the premier league.

I'm sure there are some mad stats where teams went down with insanely high goal tallys (this may be pre war tho)!

Aha, found it.

Manchester City were relegated in the 36/37 season whilst being top scorers in the division!

But not impossible.

I do hope we don’t get a points deduction for something random this season. That can’t be guaranteed. 6 point deduction for failing to control the hound.

They still scored 80!

I think they finished with a positive goal difference which is nuts when you think about it.

People are quoting one-off events like they are likely to happen. At this point in time, in theory any team in this league could still get relegated, the top 4 with vanishingly small likelihood, but below that no team can say they have enough points to be safe. It's a bit early to start worrying, especially with key players expected to return from injury soon.

I can't quite believe people are so dismissive of relegation

This side looks incapable of putting a run of form together, it wins one and then goes three without a win

It keeps conceding the same comical goals week after week

It has a patched up midfield and misfiring strikers

It's talisman is fucked and looks nowhere near coming back to fitness and it's other key player is also nursing an injury

Should this squad on paper have enough, absolutely - Will there be three worse sides than us, probably - But this notion that relegation is a minute possibility is unfounded and it's what Brum fans were thinking this time last season and the penny only dropped for them when it was too late

We lose today, with a tough away trip in the week we could be a gnats chaff away from the bottom 3... wake up
