I'll be appalled if this player chooses to sign for a more stable club with a better chance of success!

I agree Fourth Official is a very good source...

...so long Le Fondre...

...is that actually any other realistic targets we are being linked with?

How predictable is that. Of course we have other targets, but we are now looking at 2nd, 3rd, 4th favourites on our list, but that is not to say that Le Fondre would have fitted in anyway.

Watch Ken Dulally come out now saying they put the funds in place but he chose Reading over us.

Too little too late. Same old story. god knows what shite we are going to be looking at now. I fear the worst.

^^ Yep it will be something like "We matched Reading's bid but couldn't compete with the wages offered" or " We matched Reading's bid but the player decided to join Reading"

Fans are not stupid Doolally and SISU, we can see straight through your lies.

Of course I understand that AT has other targets in mind. But what I was asking is, is anyone aware of any other realistic targets we have been linked with

The board will state we have other targets but I can see nothing happening. Ken Dullaly will then come out saying "we did all we can to get players in", even though "all we can" means making derogatory offers. The sooner these muppets go, the better!

If no player is signed the first home game after the deadliine should be "interesting".

Stewart 43 will be in his element.

Whatever happens with any signings it looks like we have around £350k to spend.

I don't see it as lies, just piss-poor management.

If we had put in a decent bid in the first place instead of window shopping we may well have got him last week before the bidding war started. Truth is of course, we were looking and making our interest known when we simply didn't have the money to purchase the player.

Not lies, just Billy Smart's squirty, button-hole flower management.

Think you may well be right, UP North.

Just a glimmer maybe with Thorn saying he's expecting to be busy in the transfer market.

Can't think AT is going to be chuffed if he's been led to believe he can sign players and then come Thursday he finds we've signed no-one at all.

I don't think it's crying over a league 2 player but the fact that this has rumbled on for a few weeks and we will have missed out to a team that haven't been linked to him before now. We could have had him a fortnight ago if this tin pot club would get it's finger out of it's arse.

If we can't sign and attract a league two player it doesn't bode well for any other targets.

Without investment, a striker and an attacking midfield player we are on a one way ticket to league one.

Yep, their chairman had the club sussed - a publicity stunt to appease the fans.....I don't feel appeased!

Having read all of the fore running replies, I will say that there are so many thoughtful and significant replies.
All it points to me though, is, that OUR club is being run by people who have a chronic, and, severe lack of reasoned, effective, and direct inside knowledge of football, particularly in the U.K.
A reasoned person within football would have handled many potential transfers in a totally different way, my proffered thoughts to SISU would be thus;
'Don't ask a pen pusher (clerk), to do/be, a manual job(skilled engineer)'
