All the teams seem workmanlike and distinctly average. The difference seems to be organisation, playing to your strengths and will to not lose. On all three counts Coventry are sadly lacking...and as a result we are rock bottom and well adrift.
It's a size, desire and ability for me and a goal scorer. The amount of 6'3+ giants I've seen in this league is unreal, we look so lightweight against them. Again today proved that with most our attacking play when we did decide to go down each wing.
To echo other comments I've not seen anyone play against us who I thought they were class, it's a poor level of football, it's more a case of the strongest side wins...
oh and a striker who's happy to shoot.
Next season will be no different only more physical, god we need a clear out and a manager confirmed early on or we will be picking up kids again
There's not really a lot of difference between the top teams and the bottom teams. Most teams though, even the poorer quality ones, seem to be better organised than us.
When you hoof the ball up to your 5'7" forwards to lose possession for 90 mins you don't get the ball in their box. When you can't defend simple straight forward corners you are likely to concede. And when you bring on subs that can't change a game you stay as you are or fall further behind. When you have no plan b then when plan a fails you are in trouble.
Our transfer business needs to start in April, and for me clear the decks and build again. Our squad is not physically or mentally strong enough to compete.
If you don't have anyone to stick the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis then it doesn't matter who else you've got in the side or how you play.
