Not a legend per se for us, but with his peers, is Roland Nilsson.

He was an immaculate player, a great pro and won over 100 caps for Sweden, that is pretty good.

(Thought he deserved a bit more as a manager with us seeing as they moved that idiot Jim Smith in to help him, and it completely fekked the rest of the season up)

People seemed to like him as he made those crazy runs out of he defence with he ball, he was OK as a defender but did get injured quite often, best performance for us was the last day at HR when he was playing for Derby:claping hands:

Roland Neilson was a class player, he qualifies for me along with Oggy.

As for Mo Konjic ....my recollection of him was that he spent a lot of time being injured, but when he did play he was iconic. Not a legend for me due to missed matches.

Personally for me, genuine "legends" have been few and far between. Since supporting City, "my" legends have been Tommy Hutch, Lloyd McGrath and David Thompson

Just maybe the lack of candidates for' legend' status in the last 16 years or so directly coincides with our complete lack of success ?! That and the fact that anyone who shows any promise or worth has been sold by the club pronto to balance the books. Roland was a good call by some as he oozed class in his position and had achieved a lot elsewhere too. Truly memorable performances are thin on the ground of late { really feel for fans under the age of 25 }, Mifsud's goal at Old Trafford springs to mind as it made for a great night but I'm struggling post 1999 !

For me you would have to classify the entire cup winning squad as legends for what they achieved, although possibly not Sedgley, but definitely Rodger.

In addition to that, in my lifetime (83/84 onwards), I would only add;

Speedie
Ndlovu
Dublin

I want to say Shaw for longevity of service, but on that basis I would have to consider Hall, McSheffrey and, god forbid, Doyle. So I won't choose any of them.

What a great signing Noel was, absolute quality I remember Leeds fans going into melt down when he signed for us, he was "one of their own"

I would put him in the Legend bracket, along with Speedie both characters who liked a little mischieve.

Magnus Hedman was a legend to me as I stopped going for about a year at the end of Oggy's time as it was driving me crazy that the lumbering clown was still being picked and as soon as Hedman got his place I started going again.

Dublin will never be a legend to me idolised when here but left a very bad taste in his engineered move away so sorry but Judas is not a legend in my book.

Ndlouv however is, Roland Nillson was outstanding at RB but not here too long, Keane for the wonderful short stint he gave us at HR maybe.

Lumbering clown is a bit harsh, seems to be a fair bit of oggy bashing recently on here which is just a bit weird.

Towards the end as I think we kept him in goal for too long as he couldn't cope with the back pass rule

I did feel the same anxiety towards the end of Oggys playing career whenever he came off his line. I seem to remember him nearly giving a goal away in the home FA Cup Quarter final tie against Sheff Utd, when he did one of his mad cap dashes off the line.

That said, he was a great servant to the club, a bloody good goalkeeper and on the times I met him a nice bloke too.

These are the sky blue players since FA cup heroes that can be considered true SB legends

Speedie (a the word legend was made for him) - his goal scoring chips will remain forever in my mind.
Gallacher - just a class act on and off pitch. True gent
Stewart Robson - What a action man hero. He may have only really played a season but god he did everything to keep us up.
Ndlovu - World class pace and trickery
Babb - Brilliant brilliant defender with pace
McAllister - Pay your money to watch any day of week.

Oh where have those days gone - think of the absolute shite that have taken their numbered shirts.

A legend to me (though I hate the term) would be someone who played for us for a long time, significantly contributed to our success, and then either managed the club or worked on the coaching staff. So that would be George Curtis, Peter Sillett, Bobby Gould and Steve Ogrizovic. There might be others I've forgotten.

90% of the squad JH put together along with the second division promotion squad are all legends in my eyes

Yep. Hated the way he left, but time's a healer and all that, and allows me to remember that without him, we'd have been long gone.

Not sure a player has singlehandedly led a side for as long as he did us.
