A ‘soulless marriage of convenience’: Leicester, Coventry, and the M69 Derby — The Fosse Way
As Leicester pop up the road to Coventry this weekend, Chris Whiting ponders the age-old question: if a rivalry is named after a strip of concrete, is it really a rivalry at all?www.thefosseway.net
Rather talk about the game, don’t see the point in abusing . opposition fans looking forward to comparing how far we have come this season.
Imagine writing this back in 2010 before Leicester had actually won a major trophy and not Mickey Mouse cups.
Edit...
The bit about arguing who's bigger out of the three East Mids clubs is funny. Do you think the general population really see Leicester as bigger than those two?
Derby and Forest are bigger clubs than Leicester, both in terms of history and fan bases. Although Leicester's fan base has grown during their recent period of success.
I’d imagine a lot of those who claim to not care would have supported the likes of Man City if Leicester hadn’t won the league. I know a couple of Leicester ‘fans’ who supported other clubs until they won the league.Far bigger imo
Hence why they both hate each other and see Leicester as a 2nd rival.
to be fair a lot of our fans deserted until we got back to the championshipI’d imagine a lot of those who claim to not care would have supported the likes of Man City if Leicester hadn’t won the league. I know a couple of Leicester ‘fans’ who supported other clubs until they won the league.

Yep. They averaged 24,000 the year they got promoted to the PL. They'll try and say they sold out every week before they had success.
Forest vs Leicester is such a massive derby that it was a 3pm kick off in the Prem last season…Imagine writing this back in 2010 before Leicester had actually won a major trophy and not Mickey Mouse cups.

So, pretty similar figures to us then (at the moment).
Not sure what the issue is here, fanbase is pretty similar to us (if you exclude the figures since they won the league, which would clearly be quite similar to ourselves if that were to ever happen).
I went to Madrid and Vienna because of those League Cup wins. You’re just such an arrogant fan base with such short memories.
10 of the extra years in the top flight have been in the last 14 years. Unlike you, when we got relegated from the PL in 2001, we had a lot of bad luck. There were no parachute payments and we also had to deal with the ITV deal going under. On top of that, we had a corrupt chairman who sold our ground unnecessarily which amounted to us being in a rented stadium.
Ironically, you didn’t own your ground for a long time either so when you look back to when the Thai bloke took over, there wasn’t much between us at all. No one takes league cups seriously ffs. It’s like Burnley claiming to be a massive club because they won the league in the early 60’s.
When we hit financial trouble and went into admin, we were dealt with points deductions. Something that did not happen to your lot. You just screwed over local businesses and started again. You’re the reason there are sporting penalties for financial trouble.
Are you aware that SISU tried to buy your lot before they took us over too? Things could have been so different.
Admittedly, you’ve done well over the past 10 years but let’s not pretend it was always amazing. And look at you now? The most embarrassing fan base in the land, one of the worst atmospheres in English football. Think you belong in the top 6 of English football, which is laughable.

We’ve spend most of this season in the bottom half, and are averaging more than they did in a season they ran away with the title.
Plenty of room, you never see a ball in there nowadays. You can park your sky blue 3 wheeler on the corner spot if you like
My brother supported Man United and then… bang… suddenly a massive Leicester fan as soon as they start doing well.I’d imagine a lot of those who claim to not care would have supported the likes of Man City if Leicester hadn’t won the league. It’s just cowardly and hypocritical. Some people like him enjoy winding others up… karma will come for him. This hackney fox banging on about how much he despises Coventry on their forums but constantly commenting on here

Hope people now show more respect to me making those typos with just the standard amount of fingers.Easy to make typos with 12 fingers in the way tbf
My brother in law is a Leicester fan, he goes on like they’re a CL club rather than a Championship one.My brother supported Man United and then… bang… suddenly a massive Leicester fan as soon as they start doing well.

They're up there with the most deluded fans in the country. You'd be forgiven for thinking they're part of the big 6, or whatever it's called now, rather than a Championship club.Imagine writing this back in 2010 before Leicester had actually won a major trophy and not Mickey Mouse cups.

Every team puts out their strongest side in the final even nowadays, even Man City.
Heard they’re getting ready already for the game in Leicester, live scenes -
Don't know any leicester fans tbhMy brother in law is a Leicester fan, he goes on like they’re a CL club rather than a Championship one.
