You're correct but I would be very surprised if CCC were taking legal advise and then not relaying it to ACL given that they have a 50% stake in ACL.

To get back to the subject of this thread!

We can't seen anything on here that suggests Michael has personally abused or bullied anyone, or defended his right to do so.

So Les Reid has lost the plot.

Maybe, but that was before anyone had a true picture of quite how deep the hole was that SISU had dug for themselves. And as they still seem to be digging, it would be rather rude of the other side to interrupt.

I agree - I think he really does need to grow up considering his position! Even so I was interested in the comment!

but I guess
If you ever tire of this abuse a warm communist welcome will await you here. I may not have long to live now but can ensure you are given a top job with the secret police. You have thouroughly interrogated me today with a very hard hitting series of questions. You could be an asset to the Soviet Union comrade!

Notwithstanding the historical innacuracies
couple that with the snide comments about his awards, then suggesting he's along the lines of KGB, followed by Vichy and the likes of Darlan is, errm, low. Doesn't excuse his reaction, but it's not great.

So yes he should grow up, but people should be responsible and think, even in satire, humour, social commentary etc. that such insinuations might just get somebody's back up.

Or it's open season on decieding everybody's out to get us.

The thing is, people like to give it but don't take it. Look at what happened when somebody said those on the hill were muppets, there was up roar.

Come on NM; that's very tongue in cheek humour. I don't see Les Reid getting all het up about sites that are very anti-protestor; such as the 'True Sky Blues' Facebook page. This is very funny, I hasten to add; but if he's lecturing about personal abuse, defamation, standards or perspective.....

....look what they said about the weekend's game:

'On the field an experienced Brentford side taught our young pups a lesson today. Very sad but not surprised to report that anarchy broke out on muppet mound. Muppets were drinking heavily throughout the game and are reported to have threatened to steal walking sticks from several disabled TRUE supporters when they left the stadium. It is also being repeated that a female supporter was called "Timmy's Tart". During the match a report came through that one of the muppets was arrested by police for trying to have sex with a dog. They really are an embarrassing lot and we call on Northamptonshire Police to seal that area off for our next home game.'

Did I hear Mr Reid decrying this? Nope. Or, with regards Reid's Seppala interview, they (again I know, tongue-in-cheek) declare:

'Les Reid has done it again! Thorough interrogation of Joy who passed the test with flying colors! The late David Frost would have struggled to be as probing as Les. Joy has answered the doubters and destroyed ACL / LOOPY LUCAS / SKY BLUES TRUST in one fell swoop'

I don't think he's been accused of being 'Loopy' or having sex with a dog has he?

The satire does make me laugh to an extent although the above are OTT - maybe it has become some sort of open season when it comes to people who are in the public eye in this sorry mess - Nobody seems to trust anyone else at all me included although I have my opinions on who is more responsible here. I think as the media build up and knock down as standard so the public will always take delight in any perceived errors or issues with the reporting of a contentious subject.

Coupled with the other commentts on there, where over the past few days he's taken a pounding for the usual 'in the pay of SISU' etc. it becomes a little less tongue in cheek.

Hell, we've *all* been in the pay of SISU at some point when people disagree with us but I can full well see why, as a journalist, and it being his profession, he might start getting somewhat tetchy at any suggestion that he's corrupt.

Oh incidentally, it's worth remembering that his profession does (don't laugh!) depend on trust after all... so these suggestions he should release transcripts of interviews/ detail off-the-record parts of the interview/discuss what wasn't answered is ludicrous.

It'd be doing things like that, that would, well, stop our owners talking again in the future. And I thought we *wanted* them to communicate?

Build up trust by being not corrupt and a man of his word, and he's more likely to get the next interview, and the major exclusive whatever that may be.

Noone is asking about anything off the record. People want to know if he asked certain questions which aren't mentioned in his write up, I take that to mean on the record questions and people want to know the reason for not asking them if he didn't. If Sepalla wouldn't talk about who would own the stadium on the record or refused to answer at all he should state that or he's not providing the full picture. If he didn't ask it then just say so, presumably he has a reason why not.

The point is Les Reid is accusing Michael of PERSONALLY being abusive and bullying - that is what a 'man in the street' would view his accusation as IMHO.

That as far as we can see, and Les Reid has been asked to prove it, is simply untrue.
There is a very strong suggestion of defamation in that statement by Les Reid.

So you're cool with the whole muppets/scabs thing, are you Nick?

What if you weren't one of those giving it, are you supposed to take it nonetheless?

Personally, I wouldn't be arsed if some old boy called me a scab walking out of the ground or somebody called me a muppet.

I certainly wouldn't dress up as a scab or sit drawing pictures of muppets to prove a point.

I think it is pathetic either way that grown men are getting so wound up about being called a muppet for example.

What if it wasn't an old boy calling you a scab, Nick? What if it was a few lads, big enough to make even you a bit nervous maybe.

I think it's pretty pathetic that fans need to call each other names at all. If a word is being said to cause offence or threaten, then why is it wrong to take offence at it.

It's the people using the names that need to grow up.

you may be right in that acl/ccc have nothing new to say but their statement after the JR got laughed out of court clearly said that the JR had gagged them and they would now be free to speak. the fact that shitsu appealed despite the strength of the judges summing up came as a surprise to all and begs the question why. 1 logical reason is that it gags acl/ccc until shitsu can come up with another plan.

their may well be other logical explanations but you are going to have to come up with them for me.

Trouble is too many people are trying to gain political mileage.

Abuse is wrong
Equally trying to blow a minor spat into a major incident is hardly worthy.....unless you seek desperately to sell newspapers.
Les Reid has claimed an interview with Seppala Yet it is no more than a prepared statement by her...disappointing as well.

It doesn't matter whether some one has supported the club for five minutes or 100 years....lets respect the shirt and the individuals opinion; we don't have to agree but we don't have to fall out either.

because neither have anything to do with the JR so making statements about them cant effect it. pretty simple really.

perhaps now would be a good time for les reid to do an interview with bob ainsworth so he can hear the other side of the coin. thats assuming that les reid is impartial and wants to prove that he is.
