Even as I approach my 49th birthday, I too have that start of season excitement I used to have as a kid (????) I remember reading a few years ago - WSC I think, where somebody offered a really good analogy that is applicable to the overwhelming vast majority of football supporters. It went something along the lines of: 'You end up dazzled by the brightness of expectancy, so much so that you can't see where you're going and soon end up treading in the dog shit of reality'.
I understand there are now quite heavy fines for such antisocial and irresponsible dog ownership which I do believe has led to a relatively unencumbered passage along our highways and byways. Surely then that means we're gonna have a good season?
