Alright...so the transfer embargo has been lifted. This is just a technical point.
Some people on here, twitter and in general are getting a tad excited with signings pouring in.
We weren't under a transfer ban this time last year before pre-season and we know how that turned out. Marlon King was signing a new contract, we have franchise players about to roll in and you know what happened next... 2 goalkeepers and an injured Cody rocked up late summer.
SISU showed no ambition in the Jan transfer window. Instead of thinking it was more valuable to stay in the Championship they decided to sell Juke. We got in Nimley who in all honesty did nothing and Norwood came in. So by getting rid of Juke our only goalscorer, SISU cashed in and replaced him with Nimley who wasn't a goalscorer. Norwood came and was a success granted. However what SISU should have done was kept Juke to score the goals and let Thorn have £50 to bring in Norwood. In my opinion the wrong player was sold at the wrong time. The player that should have been sold to free up the so called wages should have been Sammy Sideways.
This whole transfer embargo has been an utter shambles by sisu and let alone this being a football club is not how any business should be run. They should know better.
So what was their game?
Simple...
It was all in an attempt to use the club being under a transfer embargo as a way to show how we need help to gain part of the Ricoh. ACL looked into this, council and higgs. With holding the rent was the next sympathy vote. However, we all know that in fact ACL have received payment through the back up reserves.
Higgs carried out their due diligence on SISU and said NO to them having their Ricoh share.
So, what gives now?
SISU were only going to submit the accounts if they had the Ricoh as part of their budgeting? Has a rent reduction been agreed? We wait and see.
Suddenly it seems SISU have given in and funding has been made available to show CCFC will make it through this season. Does that mean the secret backer who funds CCFC via SISU is back in the game?
The last few years with this clown regime has taught me and many to be slightly more cautious.
Transfer ban lifted, but it feels like since this time last summer we have been under an in house transfer ban anyway.
Until we sign quality players fit for this league, I will take all actions by SISU with a pinch of salt.
P.S. As soon as the transfer ban was lifted and announced on CCFC website, this was swiftly followed by season ticket deals news straight away! Let's see what players come in over the next few weeks shall we.
This is SISU's last chance saloon with the fans.
