Everyone is chiming in on how many points we (may) need but Goal difference could well be the difference between playoffs and autos.
It wasn't a big factor until we unloaded on Saturday. We're now the same as Mansfield and only 3 behind both Wycombe and Notts C. To catch Wycombe we have to win 2 and they lose 2 that would give us a superior difference. But it's all close. We need to crush someone else. Who's it going to be?

Does it not go to games won first?

Nope , if equal points:

Goal difference, then goals scored. Then games won, the result between the teams.......I think?

Well if it goes down to results between the sides with our record (bar Accrington) with the sides around us we’ll be fine!!

Yeah. I'm sure we've beaten every other team in the division at least twice, so we'll be absolutely fine, no problem.

If we are that close on goal difference now, for us to have made up the points, and for those above to have dropped the points, even narrow victories will mean we have made up the goa; difference anyway. Still, I'll take an eleventeen - nil victory over someone along the way.

I allowed for that. Still leaves it close (assuming 1 goal margins). It's the other games that will make a difference. A 2 or 3 goal margin could be almost like an extra point

We would be absolutely gutted if we finished on equal points to Wycombe say equal 3rd on 82 points with an equal difference. but we would lose out on goals scored, even though we beat them twice during the season.

We have to be carefull we don't finish equal points and equal g/d as our goals scored are very low compared to others. wouldn't it be ironic that the with best defence in league its the goals scored that lets us down in that scenario. positively it wont come down to that!

Hence another reason why we shouldn't be taking our foot off the gas when we are cruising at 4 nil. disappointed we didn't go for jugular and get another couple when they were down and out!

Just check on the EFL site, there should be a section somewhere where it will say “competition rules” which will list the deciding factors regarding position/goal difference/goals scored etc.

EFL Official Website - EFL Regulations
