What a game he had tonight , composed , competitive and scored a crucial goal .
There's been loads posted on here about him , his transfer fee ,his attitude and a general distrust regarding him .
For me at his best he is our best centre back by some distance , his passing is quick and accurate between the lines and some of his long range passing is sublime . Last season when we were flying he looked like a player who could play at a higher level .
Nobody really knows what goes on behind closed doors and the metrics that determine selection but ,for me , he is our best centre back and I would make him captain . If he is an awkward character then challenge him with the responsibility of leadership .
Good to hear Lampard talk well of him in his post match interview

I’m here for the redemption arc.

he’s gonna finish the season, have a barnstorming 25/26 season, finish in the championship team of the season and move to the prem for £15m

Baffling why he’s not been in team this season - his aggression, passing range and passion have been exactly what we’ve been missing

He looked a top player for a time last season and seemed Harry McGuire like. However, he has been shown to be rash; doesn't have a great first touch and is slow on the turn. That being said, he is strong in the air and I like his physicality. He has played well the last two games but whether he can now maintain this over the season is to be seen. Hopefully, he can.

People forget he was decent last year! Form and confidence dropped with the own goals I think, and clearly has to become a little more disciplined (remember Fadz first year) but there’s a player there.

Rumours that he was a bit of a bad lad which hasn’t helped but hopefully clean slate under Lampard. Was a very good finish yesterday and you could see the passion! Love it.

He definitely improves Bobby as well when they play together. Seems to give him a bit more of a geeing up.

Nothing of substance has been said about Kitching apart from that ‘he’s a tosser’ which is too vague and feels like a smear to be honest.

Thomas and Kitching has been our best partnership all season and it’s a travesty Kitching has played 7-8 games all season.

hes had one (maybe two) good games since "returning" im all for his redemption, but 90% of people on here are saying hes shit, and want him out. funny what a good 90+ mins will change alot of peoples opinion.

people hated on Dasilva, then few good games hes good again, the hound hasnt scored for a few games, once he does, he'll be compared to vik again.

people need to give this team more time, let them develop.

Robins has nurtured a lot of players over the years but I get the impression that he and the coaching staff totally mismanaged Kitching. Only time will tell but good to see him being given a chance

No. He was due to be a speaker at a function I'm at tomorrow and has been replaced by Tavares. With the speculation already, I'm joining the dots.

The combative nature of Kitching is precisely what our defence needs. Granted his discipline is compromised by this on occasions but he and Bobby tend to compliment each other very well.We need to hope that they stay fit .

I'm not sure he is that ill-disciplined. 3 red cards. The first he was assaulted and it was a shocking decision. The second he had to take one for the team as last man - something others have been criticised for not doing. I can't remember the third, but if that was a genuine one, then it's a one off incident that I wouldn't hang him for. I assume the totting up of the other offences make it more magnified.

I like Kitching, he has that steely competitive edge that the team has been missing all season. Every team needs someone who takes no shit and gives a bit out, the dark arts have been missing from this team for too long. He has took his chance and deserves to stay in now.

From the mean streets of Harrogate to the calm green pastures of Holbrooks. Needs to be playing every week, wouldn't be surprised to see and experienced right footed centre half come in to play next to him in 4 at the back.

It’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s been a couple of goals we’ve conceded this season when a player should’ve been willing to take a 2nd yellow/red card.

The headline of 3 red cards for Kitching sounds like he’s a loose cannon. I have no idea why he was red carded v Sheff W. The Norwich red was his most wild and the ‘worst’ one and against Blackburn he stopped them scoring a 1v1.

The blueprint for this season was laid out in last seasons team and whilst there were gaps, it was a solid foundation to build a competitive playoff team.

Anyone who watched us this season and last cannot tell me we look a better team defensively with either Lati or Binks at CB.

Taking one for the team is getting booked, not getting a straight red and leaving the team with 10 men.

In the case of Blackburn, the red card was because he stopped a goal scoring opportunity and considering we drew 0-0, it was a good decision.

Norwich was the killer red card where he lunged in on a yellow card and it was a clear goal scoring opportunity if IIRC.

Dasilva hasn’t had a few good games and most on here now agree he’s useless

Bassette is absurdly overrated on here by most

Kitching - no one really understands why he’s not been playing
