As a laugh, what's your worst starting 11 from players that we've had at the club in the past 25 years ?

Starter for ten ... Kevin Kyle up front, David Bell in the midfield ! )

John Gayle would be up front for me. Clive Platt was worse than Kevin Kyle.

I think we could manage 11 teams worth.

Borrowdale at left back.

Can't be worse than Peter Reid or Don Howe.

I'd put Neal, McAllister, Dowie and Butcher before him. Maybe they can all manage one crap team of eleven each?

He was one of two that Micky Adams signed on non-contract terms, getting appearance money only because we were short of bodies in the early Ricoh days. The other was Andy Impey. He used to bring them on in injury time so they got paid!

Abromovic
Hormanchuck
Spring
Allardyce
Collier
Jacobs
Grimes
Barnes
Withey
Gayle
Langley

Not stuck to 25 years but they all played in the top flight and most for the same manager.

One made 100 appearances - how god knows.

I remember we had Tommy English who alongside Lorimer of Leeds had the hardest shot in football at that time, but alas he hardly ever hit the target ! Kevin Kyle was very dodgy as was Julian Gray.

Bollocks. The team I've picked would get hammered by the current line up every time.

"He's a lovely fella." Phil Neal's quote I think. Which doesn't go any way at all in giving an insight into his footballing capabilities. I'll have a go. Imagine the ogre from the current Thomson holidays commercial trying to squeeze the ball into an infinitely out of reach goal net. I think that sums him up. Possibly unfair ogre comparisons, but "a lovely fella nonetheless."

Keith O'Neill - followed by Lee Jenkinson and his comedy stepover (I had more tricks up my sleeve than him:laugh:!)

Quite possibly. But I've got a horrible feeling he was still with us when Phil Neal nervously gave him the last available poolside sun lounger and made that glowing tribute.

A big (and I mean big) lump from brum I think who's main job was a doorman but occasionally pulled on a football shirt. Good lad to have in a row though

Got to be Keith O'neill,Saw him come on as sub at Highfield road once.
Played a ball across the midfield and went down injured,That was his first touch.
I would like to know who scouted him to give them a pair of bifocals !!!
Poor excuse of a footballer !!!

Just think where we would be now if the top one would have stuck around, could we have been the new Chelsea
