He is banging on now trying to prove a point about Pressley and is he giving 100% and trying his best, but not about his skills as a football manager.

What sort of a stupid question is that?

His job is as a football manager, I am not a brain surgeon but if I have no skills in brain surgery but I give it 100% everything is fine.

Linnell's not as bad as Clive. At least he's is starting to question him. Clive thinks everything is hunky dory

Effort can be a little like 'passion' in that it can be used as an easy criticism either to ignore or deny the actual problems like ability.

I heard that earlier and thought what a stupid naive comment from a seasoned reporter. Effort is completely different to skill and football players are paid for their skill, as is a manager to get that skill level out of his players on a consistent basis.

Barnsley winning now so important win to keep in touch with them and others.

It's nothing new. That was pretty much the basis for his vigorous and unbending defence of Andy Thorn.

There we go Stuart, effort didn't win us that game did it.

Why is it "are you one of these fans who wants pressley out" rather than "Do you think pressley should go?"

They have set their stall out and follow a narrative. Which is to back the manager. It creates discussion and listeners. It's a load of bollocks.

Wow, he said that? The carefully considered language to lump the opinion into a bandwagon lynch mob rather than acknowledge the myriad reasons behind it.

What a politician!

Yes, now it is the "anti pressley brigade".

Once you start putting together hypothetical brigades, you've lost all conviction in your argument. Top work Linnell.

It's less a brigade and more an entire army.

Don't buy his explanation of this 'brigade' being people who wanted Pressley out before he was manager.

from my point of view ,as a coach ,SP is technically inept and as a manger ,he does not have the nouse to source players ,cant man mange ,over saw the sell off of what was the best of a half decent squad. And as both wrapped into one ,coach / manager ,he has no idea how to set the team ,install respect, achieve stability, how the flying he got the job in the first place surprised me ,but to get a 4 year contract is just a joke ,i just wish people would stop trying to find positives and excuses and say it as it is ,a shambles ,and if it carrys on its R,I,P CCFC

I thought Linnell had turned a corner on Pressley after Gillingham, obviously not. Are these people playing the ultimate devil's advocate for a laugh or out of genuine belief in his ability?

Been left flabbergasted by that today. Why change the back 4 when we're defending a corner? Why go completely negative when we're leading against a team with 10 men?

We were very lucky not to concede more. A relatively straight forward chance before their first. 3 very easy chances fluffed afterwards. Even more chances gifted to them after the second.

Having said that things would be worse right now if it hadn't been for Baxter's red (horrendous tackle btw). 11 v 10 gave us the upper hand (as it should). Probably would be a point worse off if it hadnt happened as they were starting to worry our defence.

Does that mean it is a brigade if it was months ago? I remember saying when we were at Sixfields he was reminding me a bit of Thorn with the lack or reactions and interviews.

Damn this thing called the internet where people come together on this site to share their views on a football club.

I'm starting to believe a shake up is needed of the media following CCFC because some seem to be so out of touch with what the fans are saying.

none of them seem to have a clue what they are talking about.

How many of them now get aggressive when people disagree with them?

Shock, he agrees with Poole.

Poor reporters and radio presenters having people disagree when they talk absolute shit.

Once he incorporates the Keyboard Warriors into whatever his imaginary brigade is, combine that with 'can I just stop you there caller' he can just ignore everybody!

Even with social media people tend not to hide behind anonymity as much as is made out. Particularly Facebook, where the only people who don't use their real name and photo at this point are sitting in dirty pants with tinfoil helmets worried that Zuckerberg will steal their thoughts.

People like to throw it about though, as if you are only allowed an opinion once you have given your full name and address and national insurance number.

I don't know what they are going on about. Surely they are not fearful of us, and surely they don't agree with what is going on at the football club. To say 2-2 is a good result away to Su is crazy and offensive juggy was great

When I heard that one I thought "surely this man is not confusing effort with ability and effectiveness"

Thought he was rather unprofessional today.

Tudgay didn't have a good game, though in saying that, he didn't deserve to be sarcastically cheered off either.

Because Garry Thompson was saying he thought Tudgay did alright though, Linnell very made a point of asking Thompson exactly what he thought of Tudgay in particular.

It very much came across as a 'prove the fans are idiots' exercise.

Anyone else pick up on this? The fans were criticising Tudgay and quite rightly so and instead of Linnell asking Thompson if he disagreed with that, he came out with a 'So, Garry, tell us what you think Tudgay brings to the game.'

He also has no idea how to handle callers either. Clive Eakin is much more professional for the most part and I would say he is very much not at all perfect too, but Linnell makes him look like David Dimbleby.

Yeah, agreed. And then Thompson went on to describe tudguy's performance, he basically ripped into tudguy not doing his job properly, highlighting all of the 'striker' things he did wrong and that because of his age wanting to be part of the game, was poor for a striker, so kind of backfired on Linnnell.

He is a grade a tool.

After SISU, Fisher and Venus, Squeakin and Linnell are next on the list of people I want to have nothing further to do with CCFC. Wankers the pair of the them, so out of touch with reality, remain on the fence at all times, particularly on the ownership issue as well as attempting to draw positives out of absolutely nowhere when it comes to the team. Bring back Rob Gurney!

He did cut off Nigel though when he phoned up and thought he could get air time treating 'SISU Out' over and over

Have noticed he's less on the fence as he used to be more recently?
