nicking wheels?I had heard we were signing James McConnell on loan from Liverpool before he got unfortunately injured .
Our squad is no bigger than last year when MR was complaining about it.
we have lost Kelly, Ohare, Godden, Moore, Palmer (5)
we signed Rudoni, Asante, Bassette, Dovin, Rodrigues (5)
some will argue that the quality of the signings are better than those we lost but the squad is no bigger than last season
Yes sorry how could I forget our left wing wonderWe do also have EMC who wasn't in the squad last year! But I do defo get your point!
Just the re moulds tbf!nicking wheels?
3 of that 5 barely played. The squad is not weaker for not having Kelly, Godden or Moore.
We don‘t know that. That dressing room is definitely weaker for not having Kelly and Godden, or at least not having characters like Kelly and Godden.
We don‘t know that.
I certainly think we miss leaders ON THE pitch. Most of those players were rarely on it and wouldn’t get in now. That’s my point.
He would be brilliant for us.Well, Yeah, I agree. But we don't even have those type of players around the squad. James Milner isn't getting much of a look in at Brighton but I bet he's great to have around the club, we don't have that.
He would be brilliant for us.
I also read somewhere that no team has ever been promoted out of the championship without at least one loan player.
Characters like Godden who threw his toys out the pram and started winding up his own fans? That dressing room is definitely weaker for not having Kelly and Godden, or at least not having characters like Kelly and Godden.
We should have loans as we aren't able to compete financially with other clubs in the league.
The irony is our playoff team was littered with them.
Hopefully Doug sees sense and we get a few in January.
And it's not about experience - Doyle was an absolute rock and our best defender that year bar maybe Fadz and he was v young.
I think you'd also have to look at how many teams didn't have loans full stop. I think someone said something like we're the only Championship team without a loan this year. When was the last year before that we didn't have any loans?I also read somewhere that no team has ever been promoted out of the championship without at least one loan player.

So would his wages have been, That is the problem. It's a difficult balance; experience, appearances, wages, sell on value against investment? He would be brilliant for us.
So thats Dougs plan to make history ..relax boys we have a plan operation prem is back onI also read somewhere that no team has ever been promoted out of the championship without at least one loan player.
It might have cost £45 million but I guess it would be difficult to sell it for thatI mean, I can't imagine there's many clubs in the division who's teams worth £45m. Isnt the value the people sling around for our team?
If that's the case, I think we can compete financially with most in the league...just not those getting parachute payments. Or Stoke.

What about without a Performance Director and Head of Toast?
Godden scored 9 goals last year, at current rates nobody apart from Wright is getting that3 of that 5 barely played. The squad is not weaker for not having Kelly, Godden or Moore.
He was a total passenger after Nov last year. He would be 5th choice this season.Godden scored 9 goals last year, at current rates nobody apart from Wright is getting that

It's irrelevant, you said he barely played which was bollocks. Not only that he played and contributed. He played quite a lot in our best run of form of the season as well.He was a total passenger after Nov last year. He would be 5th choice this season.
He barely started a match from Dec onwards …. Godden, Kelly et al leaving are not why we are struggling this season and if they had stayed they wouldn’t play. By definition they would not therefore have strengthened us.It's irrelevant, you said he barely played which was bollocks. Not only that he played and contributed. He played quite a lot in our best run of form of the season as well.

That’s what the players cost, I do wonder though if you put them all on the market how much we’d get for them now.I mean, I can't imagine there's many clubs in the division who's teams worth £45m. Isnt the value the people sling around for our team?
