This really needs to be looked at. How can anyone claim to have a mandate from the electorate when the turnout is so low. People have won in Coventry with less than 1500 votes!
Didn't get a leaflet other than Lib Dems, and didn't get asked to deliver leaflets (for Labour) this year either. I sense a degree of complacency, perhaps. As it goes circumstances overtook me last night, but I'm not quite sure who I'd have voted for.
My heart is red, so to speak, which is why I volunteer on occasion. However in all honesty whilst imho there are a lot of decent individual councillors (from all sides in fairness) who do good things around the town, I really don't like how the current Labour group as a whole conducts it's business. So it doesn't bother me much that I couldn't get out to vote...

One of the only ways anyone can bring about political change to help them is at the ballot box. Nobody has a right to complain about what this council does if they couldn't bring themselves to the polling station and vote otherwise.
