The play-off places are not chosen by a long way curtsey of the fact that this is a crap league and you think a certain game is going to be a banker win it goes the other way - who would have bet that play off chasers Southend lose 4-1 at Rochdale and Colchester hit 4 at home to Doncaster- we showed we are the best footballing side in this league first half last night and we also showed we are out of look both ends -although our defending was poor at times two of Peterborough goals were fluky and they had the luck on the night - Tony Mowbray said that earlier in the season the luck was with us - I agree - keep the faith long way to go - if we can manage to win the next three games then the whole thing will turn on its head

We looked "the best footballing side in the league" for 35 minutes and that's because peterborough were laughably bad. As soon as they made the sub and tweaked their system and actually pressured the ball we were average.

Its like using the first 45 vs bury as as benchmark.

And we still have to win 5 out of 8 to stand a chance, we've won 4 in 19. Its looking very unlikely.

Peterborough in that first half were much worse than Bury. Bury actually created a few opportunites against us and looked a bit dangerous at times (Clarke could have had a couple I think), but they were let down by absolutely kamikaze defending.

Peterborough were just woeful to a man. Worst team I have seen this season in that first half and they were there for the taking.

2nd half they looked a more solid unit and did what they needed to do.

Been proven that, that Bury game was a complete and utter blip. Worry is now, that first half peformance may well have painted a false picture last night too. We played well, but I think we have to accept just how dreadful Peterborough were.

Bet we don't get half that space against Colchester on Tuesday.

The frustrating thing is we have had plenty of opportunities to get out of this rut. First half of the season we often had a good half and a bad half. But one thing we seemed to had learnt was never to give up on a game. That belief seems to have gone.

This hasnt just been happening this season ,the lack of backbone and mental strength has been a massive problem for a decade, if not more.
if Mowbray is here next season we need to have a fantastic pre Xmas to get a mid table finish, as we know that yet again one of his sides will most likely implode post Xmas.
its very worrying he hasn't been able to spot the obvious weaknesses in the defence ,including the trouble the goalie has been having on crosses.they seem to have no confidence in him.

Most on here pre season said the first thing we needed was an experienced keeper, but TM has stuck with RCC for some reason, yes he's a great shot stopper but he's terrible on positioning himself and coming for the ball on crosses.
Why he played Vincelot at centre back was also a very questionable decision.
Next season is a make or break season for him as he has to prove that he's not a one season wonder as a manager.

not really Cup games you don't play your full sides -Incidentally we should not be having a sniff of these play offs on results lately but all the teams around us are in the same boat -you have only got to put a few LEAGUE wins together and the table changes dramatically - I prefer to be positive in these negative threads and I still think we have a great chance starting with the bottom club Colchester next - and yes we are capable of winning three league games in a row

Win tomorrow and the next 4 fixtures look very enticing. The problem is though our overall form suggest we can't win those. But it will be pressure time for these teams all scrambling for a play off place. Could be the most exciting few games of the season or it could be all over after a couple!

If Millwall lose at home tonight and I see TM wearing James Nesbitt's bangle tomorrow, then there's still some hope.

The stark reality however is, not for the first time, the team and managers have let themselves down when destiny was in their own hands and we should now be thinking of next season. Only consolation is I don't have to worry about finding money for play off and wembley tickets.
