It is now time we started to look ahead to next season. The disaster of this season needs to be sorted out.

SISU were right to reduce our outgoings. The way we were going we were going to be the next Portsmouth. The problem was they went way too far too soon with cutting costs. If they would have left us with a few more experienced players we would have had a much better chance of survival. Their costcutting will now cost them a lot of money. In business a loss is a loss when it is final. If they sell us then they will have made the loss with no chance of making a return. Who in their right mind will offer enough for our club to make them go? They have just had a major football lesson. I hope they don't need any more.

Rebuilding needs to start. We will lose even more players this closed season. The good thing is the wages on offer will be less, so we can get more players for the same outlay. Most importantly we need a striker to play alongside Cody. He should score for fun next season. We need another striker scoring to help him, and also for when he is injured. We need to replace Platt. We can't afford to carry a player that can only play once a week in a division where we have more games to play. We also have an extra cup to play in and start the other cups earlier.

Div 3 is a hard league. It has teams built on big players. Football playing teams do well, but they also need a couple or more big players to counteract their opponents. If we keep to a passing game we should do well. Look at the table now. Teams like Carlisle are near the playoffs. If they can do it then we should do even better. They are my closest league team, only an hour away.

There are a quite a few quality players in Div 3. We will be able to pick a few of them up cheaply. The sale of Keogh will be enough to pay for 3 or more players. Players like Clingan leaving will free enough wages for a few players. AT is the man to find some gems. I just hope he is given the chance by SISU or whoever owns us to do so. An investment of 2m will be massive in Div 3.

Today will be the first day my family will be able to say something to me without being scared of me getting angry for no reason. The season is now over. I have my map out looking at all the new grounds we will be going to. Our hardcore away fans will have a good season. We will not win all the games, but we will win more than we lose. I just hope the fans come back when we go on a good run.

Anyone looking forward to the away games at Shrewsbury or Crawley? :D

I think thats a decent summary Astute :)

.......... saw my lad play at the weekend, they won a vital three points and should stay in the top division because of it, they played as a team and with passion not to mention a fair bit of grit and skill...... bright spot of my football weekend and such a contrast to Saturday.... much happier house Sunday

If you look at three players that are almost certainly gone next year Clingan Crainie Eastwood there has got to be a reduction on the wage bill of something like £20k pw or more. Average League 1 wages are what £3k pw?. If similar player budget kept then that's up to 6 or 7 players coming in ? (and we are talking about players good enough to keep us at top of League 1 not championship players at this stage). A few loans at not a lot of cost to add in as well. Might mean some depth and a squad of good League 1 quality. AT might be able to get us to challenge at the top ....... which will bring some success....... a change of outlook at the club (ie from a losing to a winning mentality) ....... would start to bring crowds back or simply just keep at this years level ....... and we have momentum.....

Sounds so simple doesn't it. Big if and buts though in all that from past experience at CCFC. Will wait see what happens through the summer
