cav took his 35th stage victory today, to become the greatest stage winner in the history of the tour de france.
the only shame is that he has already been knighted!
Watched the finish live on itv4.... amazing turn of power for a 39 year old. Such a brave rider too.
Emotional scenes at the end when the whole peleton formed a queue to congratulate him. Amazing
Happy for him to have got the record, and still have memories of his season at Team Sky when Wiggins was leading the sprint train down the Champs Elysees in the yellow jersey, with Cav finishing off.

i got really emotional myself. i was starting to think it was destined to not happen for him.
the number of times he's picked himself up physically and mentally.
and his chain came off as he crossed the line, he was pushing so hard.

How he came back in 2021 after everyone had written him off for the previous two years when he didn't win once due to injuries and depression, to then win four stages, was incredible in itself, but to then not be picked in 2022, get injured in the 2023 race and to come back and break the record at 39 years of age is utterly incredible. He is a legend!
