Aren't all managers temporary, what I find strange here is there has been no statement from our clubIt means he is still the temporary manager, same as he was yesterday.
Who are they ?Pretty much, it's just it's not the answer they want.

Yes he wants itand does he really really want it? i think he is happier upstairs and will do it in the interim
Ask for more communication from the Club, they do it, then it gets moaned about!.
Why look elsewhere when Venus is a shoe in!! He knows the players, and should have a pretty good idea where we've been going wrong. With his insight I'm expecting a positive return with a third straight win this Sat!!.It was pretty obvious the club wasn't interested in filling the position early on. Seems they aren't even actively searching or interviewing candidates.
Are you suggesting they have bowed to some kind of pressure from somewhere and released a statement? They have just made a statement, probably because people keep demanding statements.
It's not a decision at all, as far as I can see. It's a statement of what's going on right now.Good decision. If he does well we can give him the job, if he doesn't we aren't tied in to a contract. With no chance of changing the squad until January there would be a limit to what any new manager could do anyway.
Yes but Thorn hadn't ever been an assistant manager, only ever really a scout, so Venus is a totally different prospect.I seem to recollect we had a similar situation a few years ago with Thorn... Look what happened there!
He is in mid wink to you i think. On another topic, this shot is on the offal ATM. Does he have a problem with one of his eyes?

Having listened to Mark Venus on the phone-in I would like to say fair play to him for putting himself into the firing line. He has categorically denied that neither he or his wife will profit from the sale of Ryton and that any personal involvement in the deal would question his integrity. It was a brave decision to publicly answer phone-in questions on the show. That is exactly what it needs and a denial is all it would take to stop the speculation, simple solution really.
This is not - as some would seem to suggest - a Kangaroo court, these are just suspicions and with the recent history of the club, fans have every right to be suspicious.
So to move things on, let Mark Venus deny that his company has any link to the re-development of the Ryton site. That will either end the speculation or if not, fuel the fire.
Because he put himself up there, voluntarily, in the firing line without knowing what questions he would be facing. He answered all questions in a controlled manner with a strong feeling of assurance. What 'if' Venus simply fibbed a bit on the phone-in? Fair enough, if he doesn't actually profit from Ryton's sale ultimately, but would he really say 'yes' in such an interview and become the focus of much venom?
Conjecture, of course, but still.
I hope you're right Wheelfass, only time will tell.Because he put himself up there, voluntarily, in the firing line without knowing what questions he would be facing. He answered all questions in a controlled manner with a strong feeling of assurance.
I have posted my concerns within this thread and called upon him to be answerable to them. For me he has achieved that.
Fingers crossed eh.I hope you're right Wheelfass, only time will tell.
Are league position means we are in no position to be taking risks on unproven managers like Venus, he might be a great manager but our position means we can not take the risk.45 mins until everyone starts saying DON'T give it to Venus?
Well, yep, agree. Are league position means we are in no position to be taking risks on unproven managers like Venus, he might be a great manager but our position means we can not take the risk.
we need to go out and get a proven manager with a track record to get us out of this shit as quickly as possible. Don't delay it to January, we need to act now.
Agree with that, a fair few got carried away, tbh I didn't really count the JPT win and thought the league win might be a bit of a one off rather than sparking a nice run in the league , so was only going to judge him on league performances.Well, yep, agree.
A couple of wins and I think some saw false hope.
Going to take someone with a good pedigree to now turn this around.
At the moment I think this season has relegation struggle written all over it.Agree with that, a fair few got carried away, tbh I didn't really count the JPT win and thought the league win might be a bit of a one off rather than sparking a nice run in the league , so was only going to judge him on league performances.
We are bottom of the league for a reason, we're not good enough or consistent enough in both boxes.
