Absolutely excellent keeper and a real find for a free transfer, I can see why Donny offered him another deal. I’ve heard it said that he doesn’t make spectacular saves but the one at Oxford was unbelievable. Nearly snuffed out their second today with excellent closing down. Claims everything he comes for. Most off all though it’s his distribution, a proper outlet for the defenders playing as a sweeper and sets the tempo for the good passing work throughout the team.

Without being a come out and catch it style keeper, he still always seems in control and a calming influence. A big upgrade on Burge.

For league 1 he is an excellent keeper, especially on a free.
It’s inevitable he will get caught out at some point, but the calmness and way he passes it out is a joy to watch.
Thought he could have done better with 2 of the Pompey goals but apart from that he has been excellent.

Will inevitable concede a couple of silly goals but it’s worth it for the way we end up playing. At least there is a logic to it rather then Burge just deciding he fancies throwing one in his own net.

I agree, we’ll get caught out I’m sure, and it might cost us points, but what a pleasure to see how we played it out from the back. And the fact that they had used their 3 subs and went down to 10 men was perhaps evidence of their fatigue after chasing shadows throughout the second half. We need to accept that the odd mistake may be made, as a result of playing out from the back.

Won’t find a better keeper in league 1 on the ball

Jury is still out on his ability on crosses for me, but suits the way we are trying to play perfectly

Hes a street smart keeper as well. Nice injury right at the end of the game. Wasted time like a pro should, to kill off the game. Big upgrade from last season.

It's really good we've got a keeper like this, but if Burge had let that first one he'd be getting no end of grief from some on here.

My one worry would be he doesnt come out to claim very far from his line

Good keeper. And also finally a keeper we don’t really need to talk about. Just a proper keeper and not a disaster waiting to happen every 45 minutes.

Was at Pompey game and I thought he was dodgy for their first two goals too but watch the second again and the Pompey cross hits the toe end of the defender and goes over Our keepers outstretched arm. He’s a good goalkeeper one our defence can trust which goes a long way.

To be fair Burge wasnt a bad shot stopper but every time the ball went near him we as fans had our hearts in our mouths because we didnt know what fuck up was on the horizon so christ knows how his team mates felt, its great we can relax and somewhat enjoy the games more these days

The defence obviously trust him as they’re always giving him the ball. It’s so pleasing to see us under pressure at the back and to calmly pass the ball about between them until one comes away with it in space. These late goals must have something to do with the other teams being knackered after being passed to death.

He seemed to pass it out more yesterday than previous games I've watched when he was putting a foot through it when under pressure.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's actually better on the ball than Robins thought so has given him licence to do that.
He is very good with the ball at his feet

It’s an adjustment for me to not panic slightly when we are in that situation. Every bone in my body screams “put your foot through it”.

Wilson is also a great keeper from what I’ve seen, made some spectacular saves on Tuesday.

Not sure he’s as good with his feet though which is Marosi’s biggest asset.

Wilson is very good with his feet. Not as good at the other stuff though from what I've seen

Also a good a place as any to point out that I don’t think Willis is a massive loss. He’s obviously a good player and his speed bailed us out a few times but he was never comfortable on the ball and would struggle in this system.

Very comfortable with Marosi, but just waiting for the meltdown when he drops a bollock. In fact, having read the match thread from yesterday, it seemed he was getting grief for their first goal, but having watched it again on the highlights, it was just a really good finish.

We've never had a keeper so comfortable on the ball - it shows how much of the role of the keeper has evolved over the years. I could be wrong but I don't think I've seen Marosi kick it long out of hand this season. Always looking to build patiently from the back vs. launching it long.

I love that we have a ball playing keeper and defenders with the skill sets to play from the back and build attacks. Fantastic to watch and essential to how we play. Really good work by the scouts/Robins.

Speaking on the Nil Lamptey pod last week - Bayliss also said that Marosi was a real character in the dressing room as well (in a very good way).

The only thing perhaps holding back Marosi from playing at a higher level is absolute command of the penalty area when the crosses are pinged in. There were certain times during the Oxford game with those thousands of crosses pinged in from the left that I wished that David Stockdale was still around - he was amazing (and way out of our price range!).
