Has to be the worst defender I have seen in recent years. Constantly out of position, gives the ball away in crucial areas, can't tackle, cant head, and is as weak as a soggy noodle.

It worries me that Mowbray can't see this. I know Aaron Phillips isn't a world beater and prone to the odd mistake, BUT how he isn't getting a game is beyond me.

What kind of a noodle are we talking about?

Soba noodle?
Egg noodle?
Udon noodle?

I think he's alright!

I also think Ramage could have defended better than some of our players managed last night but I'll probably not have many agree with me on either

I know this might sound a bit whacky, but what happened to full-backs that can actually defend? Not seen him make a tackle since we've signed him, seen him bottle quite a few though. Unforgivable

When was the last LB / RB we had that could defend AND attack equally as good?!?

I'm asking for a defender that can primarily defend! Surely it's midfielders that should be adept in both?

Calm on the ball. Gets forward and supports the attack (at one point yesterday he was our furthest forward player). He gets in the box and gives us extra options.

I think his distribution is okay too.

I don't think he was that bad yesterday and I would say it is plain daft labeling as the worst defender in recent years. That is ridiculous.

Would take him over Ricketts any day of the week and over Phillips and over Willis and over Pennington.

He hasn't played that many matches either. We certainly need to give him more time to adapt and adjust to the way we play.

Far from the biggest offender yesterday but he seems content to do as little as possible in the games Ive seen him. Hasn't even attempted to make a tackle or put a cross in.

Ricketts and Vincelot were far worse last night.

Don't know why Lorentzson suddenly becomes a scapegoat. I thought he played quite well first half. Second half the entire back 4 were terrible, with the exception of Martin.

Bit unfair on the second remark I think, because he usually plays the ball out wide and tries to get into the box himself.

Though not pulling up any trees, I think he's done alright in the few games he's played. Which I think is just 4 games.

Ridiculous to come to a conclusive judgment on so few matches I would say.

Especially stupid comments like "worse defender in recent years" after we've just got rid of ramage

Yep. Lorentzson is Bobby Moore compared to Ramage.

Wow at the OP. He looks very good on the ball and more than competent league one defender.

A rather odd first statement given there are several current squad members who are worse defenders;

Phillips
Haynes
Ramage

Despite all the positive statements since his injury willis still had to prove himself as well.

I think twelve months ago similar things were being said about Chris Stokes, arguably our best player this season
