I hadn't heard that. I guess the logic is if you are standing, you could be moving about and coming into contact with more people and if you are sitting, you are stationary and in one place.

Just do it! You can’t smoke now in a public place, you smoke outside or don’t go in. Personal choice to attend, stay away if you don’t want to follow the rules- simple.

Common sense approach which unfortunately it seems isn't all that common...

I agree it will be impossible to police but when it's for a public health emergency why should it even need policing?

The only thing I think is odd is that the EFL & PL are at odds with each other on it.
EFL insisting it's "required" while PL just say "encouraged".
