I’ll start by saying he still starts at LW for me, and he’s still one of our potential match winners. So I’m not dismissing him/writing him off or any other OTT thing I could be accused of.

However, when he’s against a RB who he doesn’t have the beating of pace wise, it absolutely mentally impacts him and he looks as though he doesn’t fancy it.

It was noticeable against Stoke and tonight.

Yeah a part of his game he will need to develop moving forward. Thought Seriki did a good job against him

He hasn't got quick feet. Sometimes he looks like he has good body strength - but not against good opposition. Not writing him off but he has a lot to improve on if we are talking a top 6 team Championship player.

The team is 5th the player isn't on quality
So where should the team be with EMC in it ? 8th,9th ?
Honestly the stupidity of some comments off the back of one game are unbelievable at times .
The SBT classic is "Eccles is league 1 standard " , yeah cause the last 3 seasons we've finished 6th ,9th and currently 5th with him playing as many games ,if not more , than any other in those 3 seasons

But maybe when he plays we aren't a top 10 side yeah?

He rarely goes past a player, always slows the game down when he gets it. The only time I can remember him actually "cooking" a defender was his for his assist against Hull.

You could see from the off their right back was technically very poor but EMC just didn't get at him at all. Lost control of the ball3 or 4 times and fouled EMC 3 or 4 times in the first 15 mins. Disappointing performance but he'll be better.
Maybe try Haji left and Simms up top again v Burnley.

Ever since he joined, to me, he is not a natural mover with the ball at his feet. Always seems to be stumbling and off balance. No natural mechanics, always seems to have to think about every body movement, with a pause in-between.

Who ever plays up front left side we need someone to protect our left back if it’s Bidwell or Dasilva teams target our left hand side .

EMC has produced far more poor performances than good this season.
He did very well against Hull and Plymouth, other than that the jury is still out for me.

Weird to dig him out individually considering the performances of the other 2 players in the front 3, but each to their own.

Weird to comment on EMC's performances this season on an EMC titled thread?
Don't think so but each to their own.

Thought against Sheff U he was marked really tightly early on and his marker seemed to get the better of him. Was partially at fault for the second goal (which killed us off).
In the second half, he was getting acres of space and should have picked out better crosses. Bidders was a bit slow on some good balls EMC put down the line.

The timing and execution of his passes to Bidwell was bad every single time. He had a really poor game.
