A win would lift us , and will give us a lot of confidence for the future .
If we lose this one ...........

If we lose this one then it will be to a former premier league team, if we lose with dignity then it won't make a difference imo. If it was Donny and we lost then I'd be worried, but Blackpool are a good team. A win for us would be huge.

Yep, aggree with that Rich. We all know the truth about this season. No squad, no experience & and no money to change that. So this season is all about the way we play. Play well and lose, can't argue with that can we. Hope for a win, maybe a slice of luck along the way. But as mentioned, good side Blackpool, be nice to match them in effort and style and see what happens. Just hope that Juke learns from his mistake on Sat (the Pen) and manages to nick us 3 points, may just forgive him then...that be a fair swap i think.

At the moment every game is massive, even if we win tonight the game. The game against the Tykes on Saturday will be massive as well. Until we start to put a run together life is going to tough

That's another con I reckon, this prem parachute money is a joke. Why should teams be awarded for failure? Imagine the uproar from the prem if the football league awarded all of the clubs that go up 25 million or whatever it is! The parachute money is unfair.

Last season means nothing. I hate how people use the term were a prem team. Blues were and there midtable. Reading were in the playoff finals last year but looked a poor team Saturday. Blackpool are on a dodgy run at the min and an average pompey team beat them Saturday. We should be looking to win tonight.

A win tonight is a must. I think the players confidence will be on the floor if we lose and drop to the bottom of the table.

At the start of the season you would look at this fixture and think a draw would be a decent result. However if you look at the next 5 or so games I think this is the best chance of a win so we really need to go for it.

Pretty crap record to be honest. I don't think fergie could do any better with this squad though. 5 wins since Dec 10 is a disgrace lol.

I agree to a certain extent but Thorn is the manager and was the scout before and has been the reason behind this team. It is his players who simply not good enough.

I know a lot of people think thorn is the best thing since sliced bread so i might get slated for this, but it wouldnt bother me if he was here or not. Nice guy though.

I agree, he seems a decent bloke and a likeable character and the players like him but Nice guy don’t win matches. If this was another manager then he would getting ridiculed.

I don't think they will sack him though, they would have to pay him off and we all know sisu don't like paying any money out. I hope he can turn it around cos I wouldnt like to see him given the boot, unlike hoofroyd.

If we are bottom by xmas then something would have to be done. He’s on a year rolling contract so the payout wouldn’t be a issue really.

That's true,I forgot about that. They'll probably not renew his contract and pull some tramp off the street to stand in the dugout, paying him in white lightening.

So as scout he found us Westwood, Dann, Fox, Gunna, Juke et al - and none of them for big fees. Sounds pretty good to me.

As manager he took over a team with 1 win in 18 (I think) that was heading for relegation and kept them up - whilst playing much more attractive football. He then loses King, Westie, Gunna and Turner, is given virtually no money to replace them and yet you seem to be surprised that we're where we are.

Short of turning water into wine during half times, I think he's done more than we could have reasonably expected.

Does anyone know how many games weve actually won under thorn?

Try extending that run backwards to include Boothroyds last 15 games. Thorny looks like a genius in that context!

More to the point, try asking how many games we've won since SISU failed to act in the January 2011 window-releasing Doyle and loaning Thomas just as we had 1 fit CM. That was when a part of the club died, and I thought relegation was inevitable until Thorn took over. Then mix in the disastrous window this summer, and really, what do you expect? A play-off challenge? Gotta back AT, it's really not his fault and he is probably getting more out of the squad than our last 10 managers would have done.
