A few observations:

If you don't think confidence is a factor just watch Man City at the minute.

More long ball from goalkeepers rather than possession play. If you've got an accurate keeper and a good header of the ball then it's a valid option.

Managers under pressure (O'Neil, Martin) rush to the iPad when they concede. What happened to a bit of leadership for the team?

Was thinking about confidence, form and just how hard it can recover from shaky runs earlier when watching the Manchester derby.

Loads of respected people had us challenging this season, rightly so on paper. but unfortunately yet another slow start, upheaval behind the scenes has meant we started way off pace. Not getting players cover players as backup or competition is a few key areas was a massive oversight. Imagine being able to cover Sheaf early on or give MvE a break!. Once the doubts set in I think it spread. Hopefully with players like EMC starting to relax a bit and just play without fear we'll see the whole squad lose up a bit and grow into the season.

Still plenty of football to be played this season. Hard to remember they aren't robots. look at Man City, an unstoppable force a few months back are in stinking form. Lost a key player with little back up, but you wouldn't think the rest of the squad would loose believe and discipline quite as badly as they have.

Man City shows just how quickly it can all fall apart... Robins must be empathizing with Pepe right now
