I literally responses to the post and mentioned looks like it has been deleted now. I then mentioned the 22 starts. I didn't even tag you to keep it respectable rather than calling you out. I thought I was being nice.Listen , you felt the need to talk about a post I deleted so I put you straight ,you don't want to talk shit with me then don't indirectly give it loads you bottom feeder
He started 12 or the last 18 games leading upto the boro game at the end of the season .. unless we played with 10 men , we lost 2 of those 18 and he was a part of the team that finished 5th .. end of story , you put nobody straightI literally responses to the post and mentioned looks like it has been deleted now. So if anything I put you straight and your butthurt about it.
I don't get where your aggro has come from towards me. But simple solution is stop conversing with me.
And I've said I'm happy to have him as squad rotation which would probably mean around 18 odd starts . So I'm more than happy to keep him around in this roleHe started 12 or the last 18 games leading upto the boro game at the end of the season .. unless we played with 10 men , we lost 2 of those 18 and he was a part of the team that finished 5th .. end of story , you put nobody straight
I am not sure it necessarily showed that. He certainly was by far the better of the two in that match, but you'd hope and expect that Simms is better than he showed for most of that match.I think Sunday showed that Godden is ahead of Simms atm. Simms May still play alongside Godden depending on the fitness/readiness of Wright
It's a bit hard to judge, Simms was being asked to do Gyokeres role, which isn't his game, he is similar to Godden in being a box striker but wasn't really allowed to do that role. He will come good with Wright upfront.I am not sure it necessarily showed that. He certainly was by far the better of the two in that match, but you'd hope and expect that Simms is better than he showed for most of that match.
Yup not sure how anyone could say Simms was worse on Sunday. He was more involved and for me that is key. It's a bit hard to judge, Simms was being asked to do Gyokeres role, which isn't his game, he is similar to Godden in being a box striker but wasn't really allowed to do that role. He will come good with Wright upfront.
A lot being said of Goddens all round game but just 30 touches in 90 minutes made just 53% of his 13 passes, that's 3 less touches than Simms having played 30 mins more if you include the 9 mins injury time.
If Simms plays with Wright, he will score more goals than Godden.
If we want to progress he should be 3rd or 4tj choice.

You look at his goals, and he is a poacher. But was asked to play with his back to goal, and on average position was the deepest of the front 3.I can see Simms being the poacher type forward, feeding off Wright
He’s a decent backup option and better than bringing in 2 further strikers rather than just the 1.I'll be honest, don't really see the benefit of this but I trust Robins.
Yes thats true, hopefully we do get that loan forward in.He’s a decent backup option and better than bringing in 2 further strikers rather than just the 1.
You need to watch him more.I'll be honest, don't really see the benefit of this but I trust Robins.
I do notice people yourself included always seem to talk about how many " touches " godden has .. it's a strange thing to consistently bring up ..It's a bit hard to judge, Simms was being asked to do Gyokeres role, which isn't his game, he is similar to Godden in being a box striker but wasn't really allowed to do that role. I thought he held it up well second half. Looks a strong lad. Shame it looked like he was playing in steel toe cap boots when it came to him first half haha. And from the minute Simms went off , Leicester had so much more of the ball than us
Wright and Simms may need time. Just wondering if Godden is going to play a bigger part than we realise?I do notice people yourself included always seem to talk about how many " touches " godden has .. it's a strange thing to consistently bring up ..
Upto September 2021 , Harry kane was averaging a career 39 touches a match .
Not comparing the players ofcourse but if godden starts scoring again then it's irrelevant how many touches he has ..
Gyokeres was a special player , beyond simms and godden by some way , he actively dragged the ball forward and had loads of touches per match
I agree about 3rd choice atm but that also depends on form ..
Btw Simms had a worse pass completion than godden Saturday, less ground duels won , less recoveries etc etc etc
Godden works hard , never gets the credit
The club need the Wright Simms partnership to work .. otherwise there are some wasted pounds
Deep sea diving boots? I guess the passes through to him were weighted towards Gyo? He’s probably been doing bleep tests today..I thought he held it up well second half. Looks a strong lad. Shame it looked like he was playing in steel toe cap boots when it came to him first half haha.
Cos Godden was given his preferred role, Simms was being used as a Gyok replacement pulling wide and muscling the defenders.I think Sunday showed that Godden is ahead of Simms atm. Simms May still play alongside Godden depending on the fitness/readiness of Wright
He made himself a lot of good space and I’m happy enough (and patient) for now. I was more disturbed by some bad decision making by Simms but hopefully it was just debut excitement.Should have had three away Sunday away to one of the teams likely to finish near the top
He wasn't at all, Simms played as a strike partner to Godden who worked well to create space to him. It really wasn't anything like Vik.Cos Godden was given his preferred role, Simms was being used as a Gyok replacement pulling wide and muscling the defenders.
Had it been the other way round Godden would have looked much worse.
I want to see Simms playing the Godden poacher role first. My instinct is that Godden will have better movement but Simms will have a better overall goal return.
Maybe as a direct comparison, but it was more similar to Gyok than as a targetman aimed at getting goals. He was pulling wide and occupying defenders, battling for the ball. He even tried running at them, but looked ponderous doing it compared to Gyokeres. He wasn't at all, Simms played as a strike partner to Godden who worked well to create space to him. It really wasn't anything like Vik.

Godden has never been a player whose game has been based on his pace. Not sure I can recall one goal where his pace has got him away from a last man. Still got plenty to offer and will get 10+ goals this season.
RidiculousThis is descending into a "who was the most shit on Sunday thread"
Both strikers were no more than a 4 out of 10 performances in my book. Golden has lost his shooting boots, and Simms was a fucking donkey. (Anyone saying otherwise is clearly in denial)
Given time I'm sure they will both improve.
They have to as they couldn't get much worse.
The worrying thing is we've just splashed out 3.5 million for one of them.
They will have time to develop a partnership, and of course they won't be up against Leicester every week, and Leicester will probably piss this league.
Wright looked a handful when he came on, but it's worth remembering that he came on fresh, as all the players were showing fatigue.
All in all, its fair to say our strikers need some work in training this week, and I'm sure we will see a big difference this Saturday.
