"If I stayed here I would back myself to score 30 goals"

That's what he says today in the Cet.

Not sure if he is teasing us or saying good bye

I'd lay a fiver down and bet that if he does move on he won't be half as consistent as he is here, it always happens, to all the decent strikers, look at 'Jukebox'.... hardly setting Middlesborough alight since he went has he? Happened to Whelan and Huckerby too if I remember rightly. :thinking about:

or is he just saying that if he was to stay he would try and get 30 goals for the entire season?

I fear he is saying thanks but no thanks. (he would probably get 30 plus in a better team)

Although the quote is highly cryptic, vague and thought provoking, reading between the lines and after consultation with a qualified mind reader, I think that what it means is that if he stays with us he reckons he will score 30 goals.

He's probably saying nothing about the football, just talking about Tim Fish, ACL and the rent.

Probably saying that as the board arent willing to meet his demands.

I love how much stick footballers get for being brainless mouth-breathing grunts, yet when they open their mouths to the press, they somehow transform into linguistic magicians, who can weave a whole assortment of fact, dismissal, trickery and intrigue with but a mere few words.

I personally think he's just saying, in this team, he scores goals, and will continue to do so if he stays.

He said in a interview a couple of weeks ago, he was loving it at Cov, but he has other things to consider! To me that says "BYE"

Why is......"I love it at Cov, but I have other things to consider" considered to be "Linguistic magic, trickery and intrigue?
To me it says.....I love it here, but I have to consider other things. Simple as that.;)

It is that simple. You've mis understood me. I was having a go at other people trying to read into every letter that was printed. You've made the same point as me, you just didn't know it. I was being sarcastic, you just didn't get it.

It may say that to most people, but to some of the Enigma de-coders from Bletchley Park who post on here it means something completely different.

Apparently with my home made enigma machine made out of double sided sticky tape, a childs abacus, a couple of toilet roll holders, and old keyboard and a bog brush, DMc was saying "if he stayed he would like to score 30 goals, and that he is really an agent of SISU who wants to rehome the club in Irthinglingboroughhinckley and call us, ACLlingboroughhinkleycityskyblueutd"

Juke has been injured most of his time at boro so at least 10-15 out of 30 of his appearances have been of the bench so its kind of unfair to judge him really.

Edit: Also 5 goals in 9 starts isn't bad going this season

Whelan and huckerby didn't set the world on fire here either. Apart from whelan in 95/96 and huck in 97/98.

Mcg will not stay in a million years.

30 is not great -considering he scores when he wants - that means he doesnt want to score in many games .... not very professional. Get rid I say

Whelan achieved highest scoring tally in the premiership while with us scoring 10 while partering Huckerby after Dion had left.

HUckerby scored 14 while partering Dion, which again was his highest ever tally while playing in the premierhip, he also scored 14 in the premiership with Forest.

So scoring 10 goals in a season is setting the world alight is it?

I said Huckerby had one good goalscoring season (15 in all comps in 97/98). Other than that his goalscoring return was average at best.

We haven't really had too many players in the last 40 years or so who do score lots of goals, Dublin got 23 goals in all competitions one season, which equalled the top flight record for us, so not too many have scored loads.

Keane only had 12 goals for us in a season, yet regularly comes in first or second in best ever player lists amongst Coventry fans.

Think Mifsud with 17 in a season the most we've managed since relegation.
