Harsh I think - he really doesn't strike me as that sort of character.
I don't think he is that sort of character, but I think he is one of those players who does put weight on easily when not playing. In the first part of last season at times he looked a bit heavy.

Which means he eats too much.
Mascot for Reading innit?Do you know who McNulty is?
He'd be shit playing alongside Chaplin, Hiwula or JCH anyway.. It was Max that made him look such a good player. Chaplin would have scored twice as many if Max was still fit
Let it all out, Steve!!McNulty was like a exciting holiday romance we look back on with fond memories on what could of been if things became serious.
Unfortunately for us the holiday romance ended as she liked the look of something better with better perks and wanted to dance in better company as she could move good!
Now we’re now hearing things have turned sour for her and she’s not getting a look in amongst the better looking competition and we are dreaming of what could be once again again if we contact her as were sat with our predicable replacement who were expecting to be exciting as that bombshell we dream of.
The bitter taste of her looking for better company and damage to her confidence and physical shape is too much to rekindle tho.
We move in different circles now....

He's signing for Man Utd by the look of it, Urmston is in Trafford.
Think his dad had been to watch Reading there
Stop with your rational thinking. If you're not about to explode with anger at the fact he cost £500,000 and hasn't scored every game so far, I don't want to hear it!I suspect McNulty would have had around 15 goals this season. Chaplin is on 6 so far so another half season and he won't be far behind.
what? Did you read it or not? Or do i have to shout?what? mcnultys all round game is superior to chaplins
we are gonna keep chaplin regardless, but know way i would be unhappy if mcnulty rejoined. he would be our best striker instantly
I get the feeling McNulty got what he wanted with a big earning move and a contract to ensure his future and has now sat on his arse hence his poor performances and lack of fitness
Yes... In this thread.Just seen someone tweeted his dad asking is he coming back he replied “no he’s not pal”
McNulty along with others have been told they can’t even eat with the first team fully frozen out.
Which means he ain't very professionalWhich means he eats too much.
yeah but he is eating more than scrapsMcNulty is a goal scorer.
I have watched a few Reading games this year (admittedly under the old manager) and they just don’t provide enough goal scoring opportunities.
Even the most prolific goal scorer will deliver nothing when fed on scraps.

Made a fantastic choice financially to move, but footballing wise was a shite decision.
Wouldn't have him back if we have to get him fit/match fit first, pay his wages as he'd be too expensive and believe we'll be fine anyway with what we have already if we are to consolidate this season.
Leon Clarke would be an absolute cracking loan. Team needs a focal point who has ability to bring others into play.I’d wager McNulty will either go to Sunderland or Peterborough if he stays in England, either them or he will end up at Hibs or something.
I don’t fancy a return for him here if it means spending cash to do so, the only former striker I’d make enquiries about this January is for Leon Clarke who I will imagine be available to leave with what business Sheff Utd are looking at doing.
He could be a good loan option.

I enjoyed watching McNulty during his time here, but, it’s best we moved on because I can’t see where he fits in and he has no resume in L1 to justify any fees or his wage demands.
Leon Clarke would be a great shout if he was available and we had the means to get him, but I doubt that. The kind of signing that could propel us into the playoffs.
Bloody copycats, the bomb squad is our idea.McNulty along with others have been told they can’t even eat with the first team fully frozen out.
Yes a great season and memories we have however for me both player and club made respective decisions, he’s moved on and as a result we’ve made commitments of our own we need to back and develop further to go again stronger hopefully next year.
Leon for me can bring a lot, he’s not the final piece of the jigsaw by any means but a good piece to add.

If he was a free agent in the summer, we should pull out all of the stops, but I wouldn’t push the boat out to sign him this window. I want to see if Hiwula and Chaplin can form a good partnership, so far they’re 4 in 4 starting together. I also like JCH as an impact sub so there are definitely other areas that need our focus at the moment. To have 3 players on 6 goals isn’t bad at all and all 3 are roughly converting 1 in 4 which is respectable.
Sorry, Clarke or McNulty in the summer?

Apologies for the vagueness. I Was talking about Clarke, but I’ve realised he’s under contract until 2020.
