I think his best days are well behind him
Now when he left us for Brum was his peak great player under Micky Adams.Remember Strachan described him as the best finisher at the club when Robbie Keane was here also.
I disagree, looks a good player, but what I said pre season (when people were saying play him on the wing) that he was not a winger, and I believe that position holds him back, in a CAM role, he could do a good job IMO.
May as well have McG upfront on his own than have a partner upfront because he's the only one contributing upfront.

Fleck needs the free role behind McG he's that type of player needs to just be told do what you do best and express yourself it's not gonna work if he's tied to a certain system he's not that player I'm afraid
just a question because i honestly do not know i wasnt there and havent seen the goals ........ but how many corners did we score from and how many assists did McSheffery provide. From what I heard from MR on radio yesterday I got the impression he seemed to think Moussa was the most effective player we had followed by Baker...... that for this game McSheffery looked more like his old self, but wouldnt have been his first pick but for illness & injuries. Could be wrong
If McSheffery is going to consistently put in decent (it doesnt have to be star) performances then yes he is a positive to the squad ..... trouble is in the last 18 months that hasnt been the case. It is really up to McSheffery himself to prove he is good enough and is prepared to do all the right things to be included
McSheffrey will never come good imo! Do not see what he offers the team at all (no i wasnt there yesterday but even if he did look good, one game a season just isnt enough!)
Don't under estimate Macca. He has quality and will adapt and get better. By all accounts his game yesterday as 'provider' in winning cunning free kicks, gaining corners etc was an example to some more naive players.
Its our home form that has let us down and the abuse Macca has had it terrible, would your confidence be high if you were playing that bad and half the stadium were booing. Macca has ben terrible this season (so has Baker half the time) but our home fans should get behind the players regardless.

McSheffrey's performances this season have been unacceptable. As a senior player presumably on relatively good wages this is not good enough. I have never seen correlation between players being cheered every minute and good performance. Why should paying supporters blindly cheer such apathy and mediocrity.
They are well within their rights to criticise such abject contributions if they feel they wish to and if someone like McSheffrey really is affected (which I doubt) he has no place in the team.
Wish people would stop going on about him being a Cov kid this is the guy who left us to get more moneyy realisedbhe wasnt as good as he thought and come crawling back as a Cov lad he should give his all every gane he doesnt he is lazy doesnt track back which has cost us on many occasions and constantly dives whenever he gets the chance i have never seen the quality that people say surounds him the sooner we get rid the better
