IMO he was of course limited, but when used in a side playing direct football (Adams, Boothroyd) he was consistently our most effective player. That's why he won Player of The Year at the club, and he was vital to Boothroyd's early success here. He covered more ground than anyone on the pitch, was a leader, yes he did tackle hard (anyone who claims otherwise has selective memory issues and needs to get over it), closed down and pressed like no other player we had or have had since. Maybe Thomas is finally giving us that grafter in midfield, I don't know for myself as I haven't seen us this season, but that's what the reports suggest.
