I am serious. I am experienced at negotiating over the phone as most of my time is spent dealing with overseas markets.
It is challenging but as long as al the information is available it can be done, I have done tele conferences that have lasted 2-3 hours. Frankly this would be a pretty straightforward call providing information is sent in advance.

Your call.

Don't you think a personal inboxed message would have been more appropriate rather than telling all and sundry about your talking skills?

Perhaps the original offer shouldn't have been made public to all and sundry.

But it's like a job vacancy - everyone sees it, but you apply privately.

No it isn't. You make an offer to one business you call them not tell the Internet you are doing it without consequences.

tnf, there's absolutely no reason for the businessmen behind this deal to stay silent, is there.

a) they'd lend credibility to the offer, surely?

b) they'd validate it

c) their egos could be sated by the goodwill they'd receive

d) We could be reassured they had the money to cover 'the rent' if gates didn't hit 5,000

e) They'd stop one man being the front for everything, and having to take the slings and arrows all by himself.

This is about the most funniest thing I have heard on sky blue talk !
A person offering assistence who has consistently posted to discredit any actions and protests that others have been involved in, to get Cov back in Cov !!!

At least he's offering to help.

People always say on here what have you done? And here's a chance for him to do something valuable, and you don't want him to do it.

Therefore I conclude you love SISU.

I love overseas markets. You do have to be careful though as they all seem to have their own rules. In Italy for instance you touch it you buy it. This includes spuds covered in mud. A lot of them expect you not to come into contact with the food with your bare hands. But if you are invited by the stallholder you can check the produce with gloves worn that they would normally supply.

So how many spuds and tomatoes do you buy at a time Grendel? :p

I should imagine Michael has got it covered.
To make out he is not capable of making a phone call and would require Grendels help is laughable !!!

But then all eyes wouldn't be on him.

The funniest part is he has given a lecture on the other thread about how Michael should have made the original offer in private and has then gone public with his own offer to get involved.

No I said it should be in private if it had to be so carefully handed that an initial phone call wouldn't suffice. That makes no sense.

What ultimately makes no sense of course is why kcic need to be involved at all. I an sure there is one person whose far more skilled at this than me Michael or anyone on the forum.

So why doesn't he just do it himself?

So if it makes no sense that KCIC are involved then it makes even less sense that you bring your special brand of "expertise" to the assistance of KCIC.

Congratulations on starting the most pointless thread ever. Still I'm sure you're enjoying the attention so from your point of view it's served it's purpose.

I could really use your help. Our internet connection is terrible - up and down like something that goes up and down a lot. It is with BT. Whenever I phone to try and get it fixed I am directed overseas (playing to your strengths). I cannot get them to do anything - they just seem to want to follow some kind of script - the same every time - which involves me unscrewing my connection box and unplugging etc. but never leads to the problem being fixed. Would you please negotiate with them for me, as they drive me mad.

I agree this is classic. I'm sure Grendel has the club at heart but the image of Grendel receiving calls from an irate Indian businessman about his new vacuum cleaner is just too funny to pass. It's a sad position of the UK economy that we are now being call centres for India and China.
